  • I use Biocatolet all the time, I have tried numerous other cat litters without very much success, all of my cats will happily use Biocatolet (it is recycled newspaper pellets) but if I change to anything else we get accidents !, I am also a clean freak and hate having bits of cat litter walked across the floor, you dont get any of that with Biocatolet, it is actually one of my 'non compromise' items.
  • Biocatolet

it's quite good but I am not a clean freak so like clumping litter as I only remove `used' litter & clumps are easily identifiable as used & the rest can be left in the box for future use. I find clumping litter more economical & hygenic (personally).
  • I use the tesco value stuff. My cat is pretty good and will use the tray everytime as long as it is clean

I use Catsan, it's very good at keeping the odour down as long as you clean the tray regulary.
  • Theres one you can buy in Sainsburys or Wilkinsons and i cant remember what its called but its in a blue plastic bag and its like crystals (not bob martin) and it says in the packet that it lasts for up to 4 weeks, and it is brilliant!! doesnt last the 4 weeks but will last 2 to 3 at least. when they have a wee wait till it dries then jus mix it in, and if they have a poo then wait for it to dry then scoop it out and it doesnt smell at all!! and its quite cheap to last for that long!!
  • Same one I use Lizard Lady, it's called city cat. I find it great for keeping the odours down. I can't use cheap cat litter, I end up changing it everyday because I can't stand the pee smell...

I've got 2 small cats that use the tray and 1 grown up who goes out but will use the tray if her exit route is closed off... 1 cat does have a habit of peeing on any soft materials (eg DD beanbag, the spare quilt and any dirty washing piled by the machine) but if we keep the tray clean she's a bit better... I find with the 3 of them it has to be changed at least once a week though, not the 30 days on the bag...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

  • Ah, the ancient litter thread again... I never know how much is out of date in a thread like this :/
    My TV is broken!

  • I know theres asdas own litter which is cheap, around 1.14 i think, but its sooo heavy!

Just wondered if anyone knew of anything cheaper? (and lighter?!)
  • I use that wood pellet stuff - I get mine from a local pet shop and it's made locally, but they do sell it loads of other places as well. I find it really economical to use, much less messy than the granule-type stuff and it absorbs smells too. Not to mention the fact that it's 100% biodegradable as it just turns to sawdust.
I have 5 cats and consequently get through quite a lot of litter(!) so have tried many types. This stuff is the best I have found by far. A big bag (17kg I think) costs £7.50 and lasts me at least a month.

    Hope this helps. :)

The Tesco value litter is cheap and not heavy. I use it for my cat.
