  • I use Biocatolet all the time, I have tried numerous other cat litters without very much success, all of my cats will happily use Biocatolet (it is recycled newspaper pellets) but if I change to anything else we get accidents !, I am also a clean freak and hate having bits of cat litter walked across the floor, you dont get any of that with Biocatolet, it is actually one of my 'non compromise' items.

    it's quite good but I am not a clean freak so like clumping litter as I only remove `used' litter & clumps are easily identifiable as used & the rest can be left in the box for future use. I find clumping litter more economical & hygenic (personally).
  • I use the tesco value stuff. My cat is pretty good and will use the tray everytime as long as it is clean

    I use Catsan, it's very good at keeping the odour down as long as you clean the tray regulary.
  • Theres one you can buy in Sainsburys or Wilkinsons and i cant remember what its called but its in a blue plastic bag and its like crystals (not bob martin) and it says in the packet that it lasts for up to 4 weeks, and it is brilliant!! doesnt last the 4 weeks but will last 2 to 3 at least. when they have a wee wait till it dries then jus mix it in, and if they have a poo then wait for it to dry then scoop it out and it doesnt smell at all!! and its quite cheap to last for that long!!
  • Same one I use Lizard Lady, it's called city cat. I find it great for keeping the odours down. I can't use cheap cat litter, I end up changing it everyday because I can't stand the pee smell...

    I've got 2 small cats that use the tray and 1 grown up who goes out but will use the tray if her exit route is closed off... 1 cat does have a habit of peeing on any soft materials (eg DD beanbag, the spare quilt and any dirty washing piled by the machine) but if we keep the tray clean she's a bit better... I find with the 3 of them it has to be changed at least once a week though, not the 30 days on the bag...
    A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
    Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

  • I know theres asdas own litter which is cheap,around 1.14 i think, but its sooo heavy!

    Just wondered if anyone knew of anything cheaper? (and lighter?!)
  • I use that wood pellet stuff - I get mine from a local pet shop and it's made locally, but they do sell it loads of other places as well. I find it really economical to use, much less messy than the granule-type stuff and it absorbs smells too. Not to mention the fact that it's 100% biodegradable as it just turns to sawdust.
    I have 5 cats and consequently get through quite a lot of litter(!) so have tried many types. This stuff is the best I have found by far. A big bag (17kg I think) costs £7.50 and lasts me at least a month.

    The Tesco value litter is cheap and not heavy. I use it for my cat.
