Cat litter - merged

Thomas' - find it in all the cheap shops and corner shops. You can get 16litre bags for about a fiver - tenner, depending on where you go. Our cats have their litter changed daily (they are spoilt!! Most cats have the litter changed alot less) and a 16litre bag will last almost a week

I use wood based litter, lessens the smell a lot. But Tesco do a paper litter which is really light for carrying home. I've used it when they don't have the wood stuff sometimes.

Is there a cheap cat litter that you don't have to put out to the dustbin men? Our council are constantly on at us to reduce waste. We have just had our third cat run over since moving to a sleepy Dorset village and have decided to make our remaining cat a house cat.

Worlds Best & Otto cat (clumping but not necessarily cheap unless u shop around & buy in bulk online) - & possibly chick crumb (but I don't know where you can get that from although in a village it maybe very easy to source!) - the first 2 are deffo flushable & all three are compostable - the most green way to dispose of cat litter btw.

an omega self cleaning litter tray! It gets good reviews on the petplanet site (mostly - doesn't work for every cat I think.) 'superior' clumping litter is advised to use with it.

I was hoping to try chick crumbs with it - does anybody who knows know if that stuff will clump enough? Otherwise cheaper otions for clumping are tesco clay litter. Does anybody know how good that is?

ok. I can tell you that chick crumbs are too big for the omega litter tray. (I bought a small amount to try.) No verdict on the tray itself yet as I need to get some expensive world's best to try with it.

I've heard then BOCM chick crumbs are much finer than the ones I bought so they might work too.
