Is there anything that requires bus companies to have windows that passengers can clearly see through? My fiancee and I took a trip into the countryside yesterday and our intention was to enjoy the views on the journey. However on the way back we were disappointed to find that the windows of the First bus were covered by a metal-mesh advert meaning that we could barely see out of them, in fact it hurt my eyes to try! We could just about see where we were but could not enjoy the views at all. That's not funny when we were trying to enjoy our day off and paid decent fares to take the trip.

Doubt it, I've seen buses like that as far back as I remember. If it was a tour bus it might be a different matter.0

As previous poster, I am guessing it wasnt a tour bus?
If it wasnt you were paying first bus for a ticket to get you from A to B, which is exactly what they did0

As the previous posters have said, unless it was a tour bus there is no requirement to provide you with a 'scenic view'. However, the advertising should be perforated to enable you to see through sufficiently to identify where to get off the bus.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0

did you look really closely? normally you need to do the opposite and look from a distance.0

No, it wasn't a tour bus but it did drive through 1.5 hours of fine countryside and it seems such a shame that a supermarket advert ruined the view for everyone on board. The point of a day out if enjoying the journey as well as the destination in my opinion. What a shame.0

The supermarket advertisement provides revenue to the bus company which, when added to your ticket price, allows them to operate the service you used.0

            lol, seriously?0

How do you know the advertising revenue is used for operations and not just kept as additional profit / distributed to shareholders? The supermarket advertisement provides revenue to the bus company which, when added to your ticket price, allows them to operate the service you used.0

No i dont think theres anything to stop bus companies doing what you described OP, the fare is for getting you from A to B, the scenary isnt included in teh price.0
