    Speaking of Christmas paper bargains....

The Card Factory near me were selling 10 rolls of Christmas paper for £1 the other day. I expect the quality isn't great, but it doesn't stay on the gifts for long :)

I sent less Christmas cards this year, but mainly because I make mine and ran out of time :o I was quite distressed at the cost of stamps though

My Mum also makes her own cards, and got caught out in the postage last year. So this year she has made sure that the ones that had to be posted were within the sizes and weight limits that the PO now have. Saved her a bit, but still the number she sends cost her alot. (heaven forbid but when she departs this earth it will be down to me to send to the far reaches of the universe, to all the family, relatives etc that she has been keeping in touch with! Long may my good old Mum live!!! (for more than just that reason of course:rotfl:).
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.
  • Hi all. Just caught up with the posts. I've not been on as the sore throat turned into swallowing razor blades so now on antibiotics since friday and they're only just starting to take effect. We did have a lovely Christmas though and I'm looking forward to 2012 frugality.
Have spent a lot of time in bed resting but one advantage is I've not been spending any money...:j
Ruby I see you're also still under the weather. Hope you start to feel better very soon.
    Big hugs to everyone

I don't believe in the concept of hell, but if I did I would think of it as filled with people who were cruel to animals.

I bought a load of wrapping paper and a new tree for next year when B&Q had their 75% off sale - the tree was £15 instead of £60 and the wrapping paper was 17p a roll :D It's really nice quality too :)

  • xmas has totally worn me out! I am not starting preparing for it in August again, I peaked too soon.
Will catch up on posts later, but does anyone know what cut I'd take if I drop my self employed hours to 16 instead of the 30 I do now? It may be TMI but I've just started the change and I need a bit more time to sort my health out.

Tumpty may be the benefits board may be able to help you but put your helmet on!!

Dizzy I'm still not well - coldy, sneezy, achy, headachy etc though sore throat seems to have gone - it's really lingering!

A lot of pain walking now with the arthritis.

I've really missed my swim though.

I hope you feel better soon x

I've bought some cards and wrap for next year.

Determined to restart and maintain the spending diary.

Girlie has just booked her flight to Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam for after her A levels so let the worrying begin.

So what that I travelled the world on my own at her age!
Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
    And we were young.

Thanks for the heads up! I found out, I think it's £790 a year less but I need to check it doesn't affect disabiliy allowance or carers.

I travelled the world 20 odd years ago, I think it's a lot safer now with the internet etc. She will be able to text you from the beach! But when my son flys the nest I'll be a total mess!
