Glad your check went ok Sandra x

I am not amused with internet weather, yesterday it said dry today and now it's peeing it down! I washed 2 big loads of bedding and now the house looks like a chinese laundry and I've had to put the tumble dryer on, grrr!!!!

Had a good bargain hunting day yesterday, got a fridge which looks like new for £60, really pleased, we never replaced our other one when it broke (we have 1 in kit and fridge freezer in utility room) so it has been a pain to keep treking back and fourth. This ine is less than 12 months old and retails at about £200.

Also saw someone advertising an electric craving knife on freecycle, picked it up this morning, will be great for meat and bread. No more doorsteps here.

Has 40% off voucher for peacocks so when and bought my 4 young cousins 7,8,10 and 11 a pair of PJ each for crimbo and also got myself some new tights, oh the excitment!!!

Got a massive stew in the slow cooker, added all my veggies that needed using up, kind of regreting adding cabbage now though as my house is now a stinky chinese laundry!!!

  • nat we often smell of a stinky Chinese laundry here :rotfl: I practically dried some heavy curtains on the line yesterday and when I turned round they had blown into the mud so I have had to re wash and I have them hanging round the house.

The one thing I can't stand the smell of is the chip fryer, not so much while in use but the next morning I can smell it everywhere so now I plug it in outside ......... oh have I told you how the neighbours love me :rotfl::rotfl:

I am really cold and have slept very little so today I am going to treat myself and turn the heating up to 20. Usually it is set at 18 and hardly comes on due to all the heavy curtains retaining the heat but hey you only live once so 20 it is :rotfl:

I have decided when my back is better I am off back down the gym and I am going to stop smoking to pay for it. I smoke roll ups and pay £6 a week total but this is £6 that can be spent else where and the gym I pay £10 a month (2.30 a week) and by the time I have used the showers and hair dryer I thinks I get my pennies worth. I still get my corporate rate from my old job ;)

off to hug the radiator, have fun

I just found this article on the BBC website about budgeting/family incomes, which I found quite interesting:

  • Paid in - how vintage are they? Are they silk or synthetic? They sound like just the kind of thing I'd bid on :-)
I'd use them as wrapping paper - http://furoshiki.com/techniques

Briiliant. Thanks so much for these links tumpty. I would never have thought to use scarves as wrapping but how unique would that be :)

Aw spiral. Well surely just from the law of averages something nice should be due your way :)

Think I might have to abandon my running total for this month. Lost track these last couple of days for one reason and another so will start again on 23rd.
Lost a bit of enthusiasm at the moment for various things but probably just the weather, dark nights, being tired etc.
    Warm hugs

Sorry rant time - feeling fed up today, I am tired from staying up reading my book too late but this is not helped by the fact that my house is a pig sty again, no one else tidies up but me, arrgggghhhh! I would have left it but DS is having a friend to play and I don't want friend's parents to think we live in a slum!!

Also fed up with having too many plates spinning, so have decided to start saying no to things, I have quit the pre-school committee, I have stop doing body shop orders (used to be a consultant and was still doing odd orders, not really making any money, more hassle than it's worth) and have also decided to do a joint birthday party for DS so the load both finiancially and organisationally can be shared.

I have nearly finished my crimbo shopping, laid it all out last night and hubbie says "u haven't got the kids much", arrhhhhh, they get loads from other people and have loads already they don't need it!!!!! I really do think I'd be better on my own sometimes!!!!

    Rant over (sorry)
