Ruby I have put load of stuff on and had very few problems but the last couple of weeks they all seem to come at once. I don't know if RM really have lost all these items OR people are just skint ?? I have kept all the POP and will be claiming though so make sure you keep them safe.

I am sat here looking at a pile of vintage scarves, all have a slight fault/mark. If I give them to the charity they will go straight into the rag bin and if I put them on feebay as a joblot with faults will I get hassle?? who knows but what else can they be used for?? Thinking caps on please girls :D

The cat pen went up at the weekend but when I pressure washed it down it has taken some stain off my front fence (bad aim lol) which took me 3 days to do in the summer and I have not seen the same colour in the shop since

Tried the vinegar instead of fabric conditioner and it was fine, no smell.

Put some things on freecycle and have been messed around terribly. The items were quite large and I said they would have to be picked up before Saturday at 10am as they would be in the way. "Oh well I can only do this time or this time or that time":mad: I put in the advert it would have to go and they were getting it for nothing so why mess me about. Took about 14 emails for them to decide they did not really want it :mad:

Could quite happily sneak back into bed :o

Recently I have managed to get some money off my mobile bill each month. Brought a few nice bits in my local cs, which included a book for my Mum for Christmas. Also got a really nice, but unusal Christmas wreath for £2.50. My Mum wanted one and was pleased with the one I got. So far I have worked out that I have saved quite a bit on the food bill, compared to last year. Just hoping it keeps that way until the end of the year.

Hugs to those in need of them at the moment.

    Another NSD for me today.

Did some training with Mind and time to change for an event at B*T on Thursday - looking forward to that.

I'm a bit cross with an eBay shop as I ordered some lovely wicker baskets for hampers - they arrived very speedily and were good value but one of them had some very sharp bits of broken wicker so I emailed and received a reply 'hi they just need a bit of sanding' - well bl**dy sand them then!

    Hello fellow frugallers:j
Sandra Scarlet- you are certainly not being rude. I really appreciate that you have taken the time to pop in when your life is so difficult at the moment. Only wish there was something I could do on a practical front. Can only offer a hug.

All well here at GBT- managed a quick whizz round the town on my way back from town- found one ball of blue wool which will get me further on with my knitting and also scoured Mr S for a few whoopsies. The small person really wanted crackers on Christmas day but working on our much reduced budget I bought some from £land this year- it's not really what's inside it that interests him it's just the tradition of having them. Come Christmas Eve this 13yo will be tracking Santa on Norad :rotfl::rotfl:

This one is also lovely for making videos [picked up this from another forum]

With regards to the vintage scarves- you could use them for crazy patchwork

or alternatively a friend of mine wraps and twists them to make corsages.

paid in chickens - ooh, the scarves sound lovely! you're right they'd probably be ragged at a cs.

humm... i'd make them into silky linings for little purses and bags, or use them to wrap gifts in the Japanese style (that Lush uses), or applique them in parts to existing cushions (prob not strong enough to make cushions from just them), or save them up for a frivious girlie picknic in pretty dresses insisting all the ladies attending wear them! (or you could put them on etsy as 'craft supplies' or just pop them on ebay and let me know the lot number! ;) - or however ebay works lol!)

small spend today on festive biscuits for a gift (99p Stores but look like Waitrose or something)
and have bought bladder infection sachets pre-emptivly (i dont have issues but due to serious health damage if not treated if snowed in i thought it was sensible as per advice to on Prep For Winter board), from 99p Store so far cheaper than Sainsbury's 3.79!
Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Frugal Living Challenger. No buying cleaning products. I used MSE advice to reduce my car insurance from 550 to 325!! & paid it off in full!!!
  • Paid in - how vintage are they? Are they silk or synthetic? They sound like just the kind of thing I'd bid on :-)
I'd use them as wrapping paper - http://furoshiki.com/techniques

I am sooooo pleased for you :T:T

Some fab ideas with the scarves, I think I will go with the using as gift wrap I especially like the flower wrap on the link Tumpty :T

I bought a strange frog candle at a jumble the other day as a gift for a friend of mine and a scarf and ribbon would be a lovely idea for wrapping :D

    you ladies are great :)

Just to let you know DH said I should knot them together and become a magician :rotfl::cool: not helpful :rotfl:

Gawd I'm fed up with the dark mornings already :rotfl: even the cats don't want to get up. I would love to be on holiday right now, somewhere warm having breakfast outside in the sunshine reading the paper.........oh we can dream.
