Thanks for your kind comments everyone re bunting.
Hi Jammydodger welcome aboard!! House repairs are so expensive, we live in a 1750's cottage, lovely character but not so nice when all the render and plaster's falling off, rotten lintels, the list goes on!
Well, I am SO EXCITED!! My bread worked, yay!! I think it was DH in the garage that tripped the electics!! But who cares, I have yummy homemade bread :j
I am going to do a load of baking this morning, tidying, homework with DS and then off to their swimming lesson. It's 2:30pm so by the time we get out Mr M's nearby should have some good reductions! Have a good day everyone.Mum to 2 DSs, dog mum, wife full-time worker.

Thanks for the warm welcome folks
some people would say i live fairly frugal anyway , hate waste love cs shops , shop about for bargains and talk about stockpile ... all usable long life goods ...but theres always room for improvement i'd say
i live in an small old cottage too but it has previously been in the hands of 1970's developers when it was extended but poorly done , so i am still in the land of woodchip walls , very expensive oil central heating , and very rough rendering ...will get there ...
read about your bread maker natnat fancy your bm getting the blameglad it turned out , i have had a bm for past 5 years and havent bought shop bought bread snce ( unless it was a good 10p whoopsie loaf) it has recently died so has been replaced couldnt cope wihtout it and i see t as i worth while investment ,
thanks tumptyteapotmy local council have put just letters through door recently offering free energy saving advice and assessments and insulation .. so i filled out the questionaire and they are coming mid december with their heat sensor thingy and see what they say
i do hope my expenses have come to an end so i can concentrate on getting financially straight , this year has certainly been in one hand and out the other quicker than a flash ...
no sooner have i joined your mery band and i am off visiting friends and family to drop of christmas parcels ...( eek what a thought ) so not back till next week , its all homemade gifts , pickles and jams and this year have made christmas puddings
cant cope with city living ( though will enjoy time off from work ) so am looking forward to coming back already to the peace and fresh air
have a happy sunday everyone

now that's strange I thought they were called doodle flip :rotfl::rotfl: like everything else I can't remember the name of! Please let me know what they are called and what channel. I don't watch tv only iplayer etc so hopefully on one of those channels.
I have started watching that amish programme on 04 which is quite good and I pick little bits from Kirstie that interest me. You tell tell its winter in this house when the tv goes on :rotfl::rotfl:

It all seems such a hassle.
I've sold Furniture and electricals before but not sure I can cope with faffing around posting and making sure there are no cats hairs on anything!
Hi ruby, just want to say that ive been putting clothes on ebay.. worn ones.. and im getting more back for them than i paid lol.. seriously one newlook top was i paid 12.00 for went for 18.00.. im gettin a nice little sum. I sold my sons year old george @ asda coat for £14.00 which meant he wore it for nothing hehe.. so can be really good to get money for.. i made 300.00 over the summer. Ive got about 15 itmes listed at the mo and already upto £60.00 sales for about half of them (nothing special either..newlook, evans and george) xx0 -

It's free listings on ebay this weekend. I buy and am about to try selling stuff on local "sell it" pages on facebook. If you're a facebooker, type in your town name and see if anything comes up.Mum to 2 DSs, dog mum, wife full-time worker.

Ooh I still feel all warm inside at how lovely everyone is on this thread
Welcome to jammy dodger, for when you get back. Hope the homemade pickles and jams were well received. I would be more than delighted to get things like that as a gift, yummy.
natnat what make is your breadmaker? Is it really cheaper to make homemade bread. When I look at the cost of a pack of breadmaking flour that costs almost a pound for a 2lb bag how many loaves would that make? If it's only one then a Mr A loaf is cheaper than that. It's just that OH has been talking about getting one but I don't want it to end up like the slowcooker, unused
paidinchix I know one of the money programmes that living proof mentioned starts tomorrow evening. The trailer showed familys being interviewed about what there other halves were like regarding money and how they cope with the money they have coming in. Don't know anything else about it but I'll have a look in the paper later and post what channel and time later. natnats also posted the 'penny pinching' one starts on thursday channel 4 at 8pm. Cheers natnat.
seriouslyfrugal I had to look up who Chris Addison was but I did recognize him once I saw him. Was he on at Winchester last night? Only the site I went on to look him up he'd twittered on it and said ''you were all lovely last night as is your theatre,'' ah Bless him.
Glad you enjoyed it, we all need a good laugh every now and then.
Ruby I've sold quite a few of DDs clothes on ebay. I must admit though I've only put the ones on that she's never had a chance to wear or that are practically perfect. Like paidinchix says some people want brand new for pennies and will moan at anything.
Good luck if you decide to put them on though, every little helps
spiral you take care with the pins and needles. Give yourself a little hand massage to get the blood flowing. Also tapping your fingertips vertically is also very good for fingers, apparently.
Nothing much planned today. Will be having a sunday dinner so I need to get out and buy a few groceries. I think I'm going to have a look around the garden centre with DD today to get some idea for Christmas decoration colour theme, though DD and I never agree on this!
The sun is shining here today but the wind is chilly.
Warm hugs to everyone.

My breadmaker is a Hinari, I bought it 2nd hand for £5 because I was worried that it wouldn't be used. I buy bread flour from Lidls, I need to cost it all properly but the ingredients I'm sure coming in a less than 50p, so then it's just the electric. Looking on a famous appliance website, they reckon a standard mix would use 5p worth of electric, although I don't know how old that article is!! But even if it's doubled, I still reckon a basic loaf comes in at under 50p, so if you can eat value bread then prob not cheaper but I really like fresh bread and the fact that I know what's in it!Mum to 2 DSs, dog mum, wife full-time worker.

Meant to say I am sitting next to a big pile of stuff to put either on facebook or ebay later. Would love to have a neutral christmas, making back all that I have spent, which isn't a lot this year so I might tot it up properly and set myself a little challenge!!!Mum to 2 DSs, dog mum, wife full-time worker.
