You can blanch them then freeze but I'm sure I read someone just stuck them straight in the freezer the other week - maybe chopped. Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
And we were young.

I'm trying to decide whether to bother with posting clothes on eBay or to just take them to the charity shop.
It all seems such a hassle.
I've sold Furniture and electricals before but not sure I can cope with faffing around posting and making sure there are no cats hairs on anything! Here dead we lie because we did not choose

Maybe google freezing leeks actually or it may tell you how to blanche them when growing! Here dead we lie because we did not choose

Might've been me.....
Fresian I freeze leeks all the time (not great with onions so use them as a substitute) - don't bother with blanching, just chop and freeze into portion sizes.
They can be used straight from frozen HTH:)Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
2016 Sell: £125/£250

On a similar vein to the leeks .....
Just got a huge tub of mushrooms whoopsied at the sm - I've heard you can just chop and freeze these too so will be giving it a bash for the 1st time (they're not fantastic but have heard several people say they're fine for casseroles, spal bol etc which is all I need).
If anyone's got any other suggestions for how to freeze them, I'd love to know.Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

I just peel them, chop them and throw in a freezer bag. I chuck into bolognaise/pasta sauces from frozen and they work perfectly well
Very pleased to discover that it wasn't 49p for a big leek at Aldi but for three leeks! Six leeks now await choppingI spent £13ish but came out with three huge bags of shopping, so hopefully I will only need a tiny top-up shop midweek. :T

have had a think and decided that i have broken my challenge by buying more than milk today. bit gutted as this was my 1st challenge but maybe my expectations where tooooo high lol. anyway nothing lost just experience gained on how to live more frugal, especially the baking yummy.
so thought that a more suitable challenge would be to stick to £15 and under a wk for me and 3 cats and see how i go from there.will keep you posted.
hope everyone is doing well and feeling well this wk end.xxx

That last post was meant to be a pic of my bunting, it won't work though :-(
Aw natnat I want to see bunting. Why wouldn't it work?
This is how I upload a photo. I upload it to my photobucket account then click on the copy bit of the photo. Then I come on here click on reply then click on the little icon that looks like a mountain range 4th from the right and then click paste. Then for some reason I have to delete the 'img' at the beginning and end once it's in the little icon but before I click on reply to post it otherwise it doesn't work.

I love our local Aldi flying fresian. I think the fruit and veg is really good quality too
Ruby well done on the decision to cut back even more with the credit cards. :T
23rd spiral hope you can get the boiler sorted out soon. Like you say the best way to look at these things are that they are just temporary blips and will soon pass
Finished off the other wristwarmer last night and today have done nothing except laze on the sofa. And why not?:D Raining here and a pretty miserable day. Had a bit of a spend yesterday round town with DD on nothing in particular! So today it's back to 'thoughtful' spending and a day lazing on the sofa means 'no spends' up to now :T
Hope everyone is keeping warm
