Hopefully, I can manage to get a few £s put away over the next couple of months to help out.
Now ... I really must go and get that stock out!

Rising it really does make a difference doesn't it. I know those £2 coins of mine would have only ended up in Mr As till.
Did you manage to get a pan of soup on?
Seriouslyfrugal sending a big warm hug. Get well soon.
Have started my frugal week well. Have worked out there is around £7 a day to spend if £50 is my budget. I do have shopping in so it's just a case of using this and adding to with bits. As my storecupboard and fridge/freezer is used I know this will get harder. That will be when the real challenge starts!
Todays total spend was £5.76p And quorn Tikka Masala and rice is cooking in the kitchen, which we already had in.
I'm going to update everyday, hopefully. Would love it if anyone else set a little target, either budget wise or storecupboard eating etc. I know we have similar stuff going on in the other threads but as this is the frugal thread it will help keep me motivated.
    Hope everyone is well today

Made some ham and yellow pea soup last Saturday. OH said it was just a substance not a soup, however the bit we didn't eat was still in the slow cooker several hours later, and when I tasted it it was much better so I froze it and reheated today for lunch. Nobody complained. Sausages tonight - just of to make a quick casserole. Bread and butter pudding afterwards with the leftover bread from lunch.
    Is that frugal??
  • What a dreadful thing to happen to your friends Blairweech, and what a waste of life. The whole Russian Roulette of life is played out there, a few seconds earlier or later, meant some were spared and others not so lucky. All my sympathies to you and the families of those affected.

Things are very unsteady with regards to DD, and sadly, DH is poorly too. I'm just taking one day, or even one hour, at a time. On a positive note, I'm having a couple of hours off on Thursday, and having lunch with a friend.

I did a 10 month review last week, and, overall, I'm pleased with the outcome. In fact I'm hysterical with joy at the s-l-o-w spinning of the electricty and gas wheels, though a bit cross with myself for caving into temptation with regards to the free tin of Celebrations, that sat unopened in the cupboard for so long.:o

Looking forward to my Winter Heating payment in a couple of weeks, together with the £10 Christmas Pension Bonus!

    xx

Sandra hoping your DH picks up soon and that things start to improve for your DD. You have such a lot to cope with. Enjoy the time out with your friend. You deserve it. And I bet those celebration choccies were nice though. Sometimes it's good to be a little naughty :D
    Take care of yourself.
Missemptypiggy nice to 'see' you again :hello:
Zafiro hello and yes that certainly is frugal :T
Have spent all evening dusting and hoovering our bedroom and having a little declutter. I am starving now though and I should be in bed. DD is making us potato wedges though heehee and watching The Big Bang Theory, I just love that programme :D
    See you all tomorrow abw

Haven't been on here for a few days. Blair how horrendous, we only live about an hour away from there and have driven that road many a time, the crash looked, well words can't describe can they really, from the pics on telly and I take my hat of the all involved in the rescue and recovery mission especially the people who escaped and then ran back to help others. All my love, thoughts and prayers to those involved.

I also hope those who are poorly start to feel better soon.

It's blimin' freezing, wet and horrible here today so the heating is on! Took DS1 for an eye test and they put drops in and now he can't focus on anything close so couldn't go back to school, so is downstairs on the sofa!

Got another 2nd hand crimbo pressie, doing well this year!

I'm off to do some cleaning (oh the joys)

I had some left over stock and veg (without the meat) from a chicken casserole so I boiled it up and used as filling for a savoury pancake. I kept the spare mix and today I made a sweet pancake with banana and golden syrup.
  • thanks to whoever mentioned bread and butter pudding, I nearly fed half a loaf to the hens, going to combine it with banana to make a fantastic dessert!

Natnat you're doing well with your presents. It will be a great feeling knowing you're ahead with it all once the run up to Christmas is here.
Little spend today of £5.51p Think I'll keep a running total in my sig.so I don't get tempted to spend too much.
Not much doing this evening. Having a lazy night.
