Thank you all for your kind words, but alas, DD taken to hospital again, so DGD back to me, poor thing, she has witnessed such dreadful things. No school today, but she's going in tomorrow.
Friend I was supposed to be having lunch with was so understanding and kind. So I'm unlikely to be on here for a while, and just pray she gets the right help and care.

Ruby I've not heard about that before but it sounds interesting.
I have also found out that a dear friend has advanced bowel cancer spread to the liver and has been told he has a few months may be less.
Take care.
Sandra things have been so rotten for you of late. I hope you'll be on here soon telling us that things have started to improve. I hope your DD finally gets all the help and support she needs. Thanks goodness your DGC has got you to rely on x
Look after yourself.
Still got my frugal hat on with a no spend day today!
Hugs to all

Sorry to hear your daughter is in hospital again and also that your husband is not so well.
Dizzy that Household Blues book looks like the book for me.Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
And we were young.

There are so many threads on here I am only slowly finding ones for me, and today found this one. I am coming very late to this ( but better late than never I hope).
I am trying to become as frugal as I can but didn't know what I was spending on groceries, so have joined the grocery challenge for Nov and am keeping a list of everything I buy, not just the totals so I can examine exactly where my money goes - also putting down any non grocery spends.
I am trying to make food go further - on Thursday did a big pot of pulses soup and instead of just making it do one night I added some soup pasta to thicken it and with home made bread we had it both Thursday and Friday, hubby did say he was a bit peckish about 9pm Friday so gave him a treat of a Basics swiss roll ( 19p) with basics custard (9p)- I could not have made the swiss roll for that price. I know this will be old hat to all of you, but we usually always have something different every day so a learning curve for us. Right desperately need to go shopping but stick in waiting for Parcelforce, didn't think they deliver on a Saturday afternoon but according to their site my parcel ( hedges) are out for delivery. So while stuck in here will start my next hat - knitting hats with ear flaps for everyone for Christmas- and read through this thread, am sure I am going to find many many tips, so will be cutting and pasting into a blankpage to print out - before anyone yells about using up scrap paper and ink holding a pen/pencil for more than a few minutes is to painful to me, knitting is hard but had given it up due to my health condition but now am fighting back and will do the things I enjoy even if end up crying in pain, am fed up health winning.Need to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

Welcome prep, never too late to join us! (P.s. we don't shout at anyone, this isn't that type of group)
Just dropped son off at his brothers first birthday party! He has been all excited all week, although his dad cancelled his contact yesterday as 'he had something on' yea, they went to her parents for dinner!!! Grr drive me demented sometimes they do!
Got work tonight n really not in the mood for it. But it is £30odd a night that I can't be turning my nose up at!
Hope everyone is having a good weekendLiving Simply, not simply living.Weight Loss - 5b/55lb
