  • Morning peeps

Rising I suffer from cold sores and the only thing I have found that works is Iodine, I only put it on at night or in the day if not going anywhere as it does leave your mouth orange :D

    Hello everyone.

Haven't been here for a while - I've had no Internet at home for over a week and am only online when I'm spending time with my son's cat as he is in New York for a month.

I've been catching up with Thoughts in the Arms so know I will try and have a catch up here.

Not sure I've been that frugal lately - paid out for a hair cut but got it coloured for free and he did a great job.

Been tired out with my course on Monday - I'm really enjoying it but it's heavy going.

Just made some really frugal cards :) which can be used for any occasion so I have one to hand whatever the need! Made 8 all together so was well pleased for the small outlay of £1.29 (already had everything else)
The rest of the piccys are on my h*page.

Such clever folk on this thread!

I thought I'd be here all day catching up but nearly done!

Thanks PIC - I have some idonine swab things the nurses use to cover wounds (every little cut gets infected due to my "knackered" immune system) so will cut a bit off and have a dab with that - I don't care what I look like, I just want the stinging to stop!;)

I had a search around this morning and some people were suggesting to dab it with .... nail varnish remover:eek: but I just couldn't bring myself to do that OUCH!

I had a bit of a cold a couple of weeks ago but it didn't come to much (went after a couple of days) and thought I'd got away with it but think the infection must still be lurking in my system.

I've got a "funny" lymph node in my jaw which swells for several reasons - cold/flu, generally run down or if I've got an infection somewhere (again down to pretty non existant immune system) and noticed after I'd posted that's it's come up again too and is pretty uncomfortable:( - and also a touch of (but not terrible) earache.

I've found some antibiotics in the medicine box so will take those and hope it sorts me out!:)

Anyway, enough moaning and feeling sorry for myself .... sorry folks.

Good to see you on here Ruby, have missed you :)
Rising hope you feel better soon huni. Have a hot toddy from me
Thank you everyone for the Anniversary wishes. My poor OH does have a lot to put up with, with me :D He's not well at the moment with this rotten chest/throat infection going round but it's his last night at work this evening then he's off till next week.
I know when it's my time to hibernate when I make my Winter pie. It's so simple but I love it. Par boil sliced potatoes. Meanwhile fry an onion and add a tin of chopped tomatoes. Add seasoning and herbs if you want. Then layer in a dish and finish with a pastry crust, the thicker the better. I'm sure most of you do something similar. Also made some vegan choc chip cookies and eaten about 7 of them. Mmmmmm, naughty but oh so nice.
Going to bed soon as last night I took a Victoria Wood dvd to bed along with my knitting and fell asleep with the dvd blaring away so didn't have that good a sleep. I think Victoria Wood is so funny and her characters make me chuckle. Sometimes we need a good laugh don't we?

  • Hi all. Just popped in to say thank you so much for all your lovely messages of support. DD is now in her 4th week in hospital, not very well, and as it's half term DGD is staying here, and I'm trying to take her somewhere every day.

DH is not good, and I'll be honest, I'm absolutely worn out. But there's nothing anyone can do about it, and I just keep telling myself there's light at the end of the tunnel.

    Keep well everyone.

    xx
  • Sandra, lovely to hear from you ((((hugs)))) at this difficult time. Try to find a little bit of "me" time somewhere.
