I don't believe in the concept of hell, but if I did I would think of it as filled with people who were cruel to animals.

Sorry to hear about your Aunt's passing Kerry.

Kind thoughts for all the family.
Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
    And we were young.

  • Some good news ...... finally got my bandage off and stitches out yesterday (not a pleasant experience as they were really tight) and had a bath last night!:D (I'm not a fan of showers, love them when I'm in but always end up frozen by the time I've got dried & out).

Have a slight problem now in that my foot is obviously really sensitive without the protection of the bandage so I'm struggling to find anything to put on it that doesn't rub or rest on the sore bit (even my slippers do) ....

Oh you poor thing! That must be really sore. Even if you put a sock on first, that's going to rub. Hope the soreness eases a bit for you.

    Dear me!

    I've not long woken up!

Had a cuppa earlier and then fell back to sleep and feel shattered.

Trying to muster up motivation for a swim - not sure if I will!

Lovely here earlier but a bit hazy now.

May forgo a roast chicken to save money and make some soup tonight.

No time to catch up right now, almost time to pot the jam. We've been busy here this weekend, not spent a lot, but have got a lot of apples. Jam, jelly, juice and cider for our efforts. I'm shattered! I dreamt of apples last night!!

Not been around for a while - just thought I'd pop on & 'Lurk'

Ruby & Sandra - words cant express how I feel when I hear about people who CARE. I must admit you both brought a tear to my eye, especially as I have recently lost my 'boyfriend' as DH called him. All of 83 who I met 3 years ago on a digital camera course. A lovely gentleman who I really miss. We kept in touch after the course and I would help him with his 'puter' he took the time to digitally enhance a group photo of my Grandparents, Father & Uncle & Aunt. It hangs on my landing wall & I can see it from my bed - a lovely reminder of my family and my friend.

By the way Sandra - I was 4 1/2 in '50 - I remember having a dolls house bungalow made from corrugated cardboard. It was beautifully done with bay windows & (paper) pantiled roof. My dad must have spent hours on it & I was thrilled to bits - wish I still had it!
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle
