Hi all, i've only ever made cupcakes that were successful but it's my parents 25th anniversary in June and would love to make them a anniversary cake, something made and personal. I was wondering how i would go about this? I was thinking either a single tier or two tier cake covered in white icing with silver hearts or stars? How would i get the icing silver? Do i just use sugarpaste for the cut out hearts? If so what colour would i buy for silver? thanks in advance! will post a picture of my cupcakes soon

Hi, I've got an acrylic cupcake stand which I'm putting a 6inch cake on top. It seems a bit wobbly on the top. How do you secure the cake so it has less chance of toppling over?0

Tealeaves the weight of the cake ( I'm not suggesting it's a heavy cake ha) should stabilize the stand

Barginfinder that's a lovely idea for a cake, it's as easy as you describedcut the hearts from white sugar paste and you've a couple of options to obtain the silver colour. There is a spray glaze that comes in silver so spray with a couple of light coats the hearts then place onto cake (try and spray in a shallow tin or box- spray tends to get everywhere otherwise) or mix a little metallic lustre powder (I use squires light silver for a subtle silver effect) with a drop of vodka and paint onto the hearts
Post a piccy when you are done now you've learnt to upload
