    using fondant moulds
    I have bought a fondant mould to use to decorate some cupcakes. If the mould-its in shape of present with bow-will look better with different colours do I just use white fondant then paint it afterwards or do i put diffferent coloured fondant in the mould?

  • Not had chance to come on for a while. I am attempting a teddy bear picnic cake a bit like one I saw on here. I have made my teddies ready. My mum bought me the alphabet cookie cutters from Dunhelm mill but the letters are far too big. I need something similar (i.e. really simple, just cut out the letters, as I am a total novice) that I can buy online. Could any one suggest one? I have looked on ebay but there are so many.

    Thank you.

    it would probably be easier to use coloured fondant. the coloured fondant shouldn't mark the moulds.

    or on re-reading, are you looking to paint just the bow bit of the pressed out moulded fondant?

  • Have been lurking away, following all your delicious bakes.

    Just wanted to share the 'cake' I've done for OHs birthday.

    He's not a massive cake fan so it's only got cake at the very bottom to hold the fingers up, couldn't think of any other way to do it at short notice!

    Next year I want to do something completely 'cakeless', a pinata cake maybe! :)
