Hi everyone!
How long will a cake be ok for in the freezer? I baked a 10" chocolate cake and froze it with the intentions of icing it a few days later but the person cancelled so I've been left with a great big cake and I have a cake to do in 4 weeks and wondered if I could save the cake I already made?
Thanks x0 -
I wondered if you'd like to see the Minnie Mouse cake I made for my DD's birthday:

Hi fab cakes as usual. I love this thread.
I am looking for some tips please.
With the help of this thread I can do a pretty good cupcake now with practice and I am able to do the the butter cream swirls/rose and I do get compliments on them so that's really good and also the recipe I use for the cakes never fails so that is also good.
However I tasted a cupcake made by a professional the other day and the difference I noticed was that the cupcake was 'lighter' in texture and I was wondering what creates this? Would I need to adapt my recipe or is it in the mixing? I have a kitchenaid and what I usually do is cream the butter and sugar in that (not for long really) and then mix the rest by wooden spoon.
Any suggestions to get a lighter sponge?0 -

Hi Monz
Thanks
This is the recipe I use (although I didn't get it from Tesco) and I use butter not marg but the cake I tasted I could tell a real difference and it was so much lighter/fluffier than mine even though I had always been happy with mine til that point0 -
