However, I do like the pink that cochineal makes - it's much more like "Barbie" pink than others, but I don't seem to be able to find it anymore. Has anyone seen any? Or can anyone recommend a paste pink that's more of a Barbie pink?
It's because of complicated European laws on food colourings now, I believe.
I bought my last lot of Barbie pink fondant from an ebay seller.Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.
Faith is the denial of observation, so that belief can be preserved.

I think IKEA have very reasonable ones. Not sure if they are too plain or not?0 -

Are you looking for 1 tier or 2? Glass or crock? Asda have this 2 tier porcelain one reduced to £7 http://direct.asda.com/ASDA-2-Tier-White-Cake-Stand/001417718,default,pd.html0 -
Really enjoy seeing all the brilliant cakes you make on here, but wonder if anyone can advise please
Am making wafer cupcakes for the first time for a fund raiser tomorrow. If I make them today, can I ice them today and store them or will they go soggy. Never made them before so any other advice will be welcome. I know that you should make a hole in the bottom after they have come out of the oven to stop them going soggy but any other advice would be very welcome. Thanks0 -
Think it will stale/go soggy. I put wafer biscuits round the edge of a cake and before evening it was soft.
With vanilla cake I use the skyhigh vanilla buttermilk cake. It's really soft but copes with the fondant. I've seen it carved into a Mad Hatter cake before which i was surprised it held up to, but tried and tested, it will do a 9inch cake with a barnyard scene on top0
