    How do you coever your boards so you cover the whole board before outting the cake on top

    I did cover the whole board first with the giant cupcakes but with a normal shaped cake I place the cake on first then cut out a circle or square just smaller than the actual cake size the place it over the cake and down on to the board. I just rolled out the fondant to the size of the board brushed some water over it, placed the fondant on and ran a sharp knife around the edge xxx

    Yeh I think you can tell them what siz you need. The dj decks were slighlty smaller than an a4 sheet and I made the cake to accomodate that.

    looking for a little advice
    I usually make choc cakes but the kids have asked if I could make some character birthday cakes instead.looking at the cost of coloured icing ect for the amount I'd actually need works out expensive is there a cheaper way of doing it?

    any tips on where to start? thanks

    you can colour yourself with gel colourants but it is hard work. i would only do this with pastel type colours, would buy if the colour was bright red or navy blue or black

    Had about 2.5 hrs notice to make this eggless fresh cream cake, for my nephew who into boxing

    This are great! especially at such short notice could i ask how you cooled them so quickly for decoration, was it in the freezer?
