Hiya Gloria you can get a card board if that makes sense the same size as the base of your second tier. It's stiffened card with a food safe coating and costs pennies, that will sit on top of the dowels:) HTH

have read this whole thread over the last 2 days and have got some great ideas.

i am only a beginer and have mostly just made fairy cakes and muffins so far. have borrowed a giant cupcake mould off a friend to try out this weekend but i dont have the tools to pipe yet so usually just spread my butter cream icing with a spatula.

was looking at nozzles and bags but the bags are all huge..can you get smaller ones?

will deffo come back regular to look at all your amazing cakes

    Wow!
What fab cakes! i made a few (78) for my husbands birthday get together, got lovely comments, and one order! Wasn't thinking of doing this for earnings, but well, that is definitely now a plan.
So, I have had a look at a website to get my food hygiene certificate online, what else would you ladies recommend I get to be legal?
    Thanks in advance.
    Feel free to pm me.
    Loving the sunny days!

Well icemice I love it. It looks fab there are loads of cushions etc about using a similar flag design. Don't be so hard on yourself:) Are you addicted now? How have you got the Olympic rings so neat? X

Thanks Nanamia - I used two glasses to cut the rings and printed off a pic to make sure I cut the bits out in the right places. I let them dry a bit before I put them on the cake to try and stop the colour running as I knew I had just one chance at getting them on without staining the white. Apparently, it made it to London intact and some went to the opening ceremony - the closest link that I have to being there myself! Lol! :rotfl:
