Ooh Becs the macaroons look delicious. I bet your Dad was really pleased:)
I think youve had the best idea with the sunflowers an M&M ladybird will look brill, I was thinking a bumble bee on a wire in a posy pick but it's a lot of messing. Pop a piccy up if you try the mini oreos (please) I saw Jo Wheatleys book in the supermarket the other day would you recommend it?

Moosetastic your baby shower cup cakes are adorable (as usual) x
Had to google opius thingy. OMG tricky ! Can't wait to c the pictures.

I've a few days off from orders this week. Supposed to be organising my ingredients and stock required etc but not started yet!

Bobbis mummy I use edible glue unless the fondant is very soft and I'm quick then I don't use anything.

yes definitely. I think it's a lovely book with really varied recipes, her macaroon ones were a lot simpler than most others I've seen. All the recipes seem unfussy and uncomplicated with a good mixture of sweet and savoury.

My first attempt at sunflower cupcakes. Think I'm going to do these in a terracotta pot for the fete competition.

becs your sunflower cakes are really realistic looking - how did you do the leaves - using a leaf tip? I want to try these this weekend - did u use mini oreos or normal ones?

Does anyone add glycerine to their Madeira cake?

Also, will the silicon big top giant cupcake mould take a 6 egg mix or will I have to do more? x

Never used glycerine in my madeira nat and a 6 egg mix is perfect in my silicon giant cupcake. :-)

Thanks for the recommendation Becs I've a birthday coming up might put it on my wish list:)

I don't use glycerine in mine Nat but I always use a brushing of sugar syrup underneath the buttercream when I slice it in half! Don't have a giant cupcake so can't help on that one.

Hi Mogwai yes it was a leaf tip. They're full sized Oreos on these but I'm going to do a mixture of both for the ones in te pot so it looks like some are more open than others.

I made some syrupy flapjacks yesterday - packed them away in rather a hurry and didn't use baking parchment, so they are nicely melded with the heat now :o. Will just have to eat them with a spoon.

A special someone is coming back for a birthday weekend, am pondering on whether to do an egg-free banana bread, orange and carrot cake, or chocolate? Decisions....

I've been asked to make something similar to this ^^^^^ Can anyone advise on the best way to attach the roses? I'm worried that they will be too heavy and damage the cake. Thought florist wire.

    Thank you in advance x

^^^^So beautiful! Will you be making our own petals from icing, or will they be ceramic? If they are icing then I think you're right, a good length of florists wire should do it.
