    Hi,

Just wondered if anyone has seen any good Jubilee themed bun/cupcake cases? I bought some nice ones from Sainsburys for £1 which have some white ones with flags on and also some red ones with spots and blue ones with spots.

They are in the usual baking isle.

    Zippy x

PS, Some nice ideas here for Jubilee themed cupcakes http://www.butcherbakerblog.com/2012/05/14/jubilee-cakes/ I especially like the stamp design and would be good if I could take something like that into work as I work for Royal Mail.

Made a 3 tier wedding cake today. Will post pics later. It was fuschia and black. Chocolate, lemon and carrot flavours.

Because of the vibrant colours of the sugarpaste, I really struggled to get rid of all traces of icing sugar. How does everyone else deal with this? I usually go over it with some clear spirit but wondered if there was a better way of dealing with larger surface areas? Thanks.

Hi Nat, I never use icing sugar with coloured sugarpaste. I just make sure I roll it out with a nylon rolling pin on a non stick mat.

I need to do red, white and blue buttercream for cupcakes to lay out in a union jack shape for the jubilee street party. My question is Has anyone coloured buttercream to be a strong red and strong blue using the gel colours? If so which are te best shades to get?

    Hi Ladies
I need your opinions please I have just bought one of these

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Large-Embossing-Mat-20-square-flowers-swirls-Cake-Decorating-Sugarcraft-/300708177227?pt=Uk_Crafts_Cake_Decorating_MJ&hash=item46039aa54b

do you think if I did a two tier maybe lilac on the bottom and pink on the top with the opposite colour beads running around the cakes it would be to much pattern? Am also think of putting blingy numbers on the top tier with maybe some feathers

    Thanks

Thanks becs but I have a nylon rolling pin and non-stick mat but I still needed the icing sugar :( It was a 12", 10" and 8" so didn't want to risk not using it.

You'd need to get the Sugarflair Extra Red for the red x
