Thanks nanamia!
Got a 3 tier wedding cake to do this week. My first 3 tier and first wedding cake. I'm panicking a bit about it to be honest. Anyone have any tips for me??? X0 -
BBC Good Food wedding cake instructions are good for assembly etc. They saved my sanity when I made my brother's wedding cake.
Bet it's gorgeous nat as all your cakes are. Good luck. x0 -
Thank you Golden Anemone. I've printed out the GF instructions. I'm just so nervous becasue it's somebody's wedding cake and I've only ever done a 2 tier before0

Nat the three tier is no harder than the two tier. Your DSs christening cake looked shop bought you've NOTHING to worry about. My only tip would be to give yourself enough time! Bit rich coming from me queen of the last minute as I am! The bride and groom trust you and have asked you cos they know you'll do a good job. The only person we've gotta convince is you!
I've got a wedding cake for this week too and a Minnie Mouse one for Tuesday ! The wedding cake is really strange it's for a friend of a friends friend so not even spoken to the bride and she doesn't seem that fussy. Last week she asked for a three tier fruit cake for next week! I explained I needed three months notice to allow the cake to mature and suggested she get one from M&S or Mr Ts. So she asked if she bought one would I decorate it. Only request is simple and pale blue!!! So I'm giving it a go, pale blue flowers and a few butterflies I'll pop a picture on when it's done but it won't be anything spectacular. When the cake bases arrived she know wants them separate not tiered and there are only two. They are also different colours one looks white and the other looks ivory. Just hoping something hasn't been lost in translation:(
I made the highly recommended Lindys chocolate fudge cake today. My guinea pigs enjoyed it but ALL commented on the fact I hadn't filled it! I have a feeling they are getting really spoilt now as my chief testers! They did say though it was moist and light. It looked like a hit:)
Do you thing somebody should start a "part three" soon? Shall we wait til we get to 100 pages? Any thoughts? Do we have a guide? The secret of Christmas
