Murie no wonder you were delighted your little sisters anniversary cake is beautiful. I bet they were thrilled with it. It's a small world isn't it, I've just bumped into you on another thread talking my other favourite subject Christmas:)

Moosetastic I love the Belle plaque, looks really fiddly did it take a long time to do? Can't wait to see the photos. Have you baked the rainbow cake yet?
I should have baked the cake for my Saturdays order tonight or yesterday really but ran out of time:( Early start in the morning for me. Still trying to decide on a design thinking pretty girlie but nothing finalised yet. Lovely little girl who's going to be 8:)

Nanamia- its thier anniversary today so should get some feedback as to how it tastes tonight. Yup- the other thread is one of my all time personal fave subjects! ( it is nice to know I'm not the only one with that addiction! Even I was was beginning to doubt myself til I read everyone elses posts :D!)

Moosetastic- that plaque is beautiful! You are very talented- I'm jealous! I've never tried runouts, not sure I ever will cus stick figures dont have the same appeal and thats about my limit as far as drawings go!

Hi all - total newbie to cupcakes but am hoping to make approx 70 for a golden wedding anniversary party. Where do you suggest I buy the muffin cases, gold decorations etc. and can any one point me to an icing recipe please. I assume that i need to try and vary the decorations from cupcake to cupcake?

I made gorgeous white chocolate butter cream the other day :)

Vanilla extract (judge yourself how much to put in-I pour it in as the mixer bowl is still turning and start from by the beaters,in the mid section of the bowl, and keep pouring until the bowl has done a full turn),probably works out at just over a teaspoon
    750g Icing Sugar
    300g butter
    150g melted milky bar!

Mix the icing sugar and butter, add the vanilla, melt the chocolate, stir it in and mix again.Absolutely gorgeous :)
this sounds lush - would it work for cupcakes ?

Thank you so much for all the lovely comments. Nanamia, I used a colouring book picture, print out 3 copies, and then just traced around the bulk of the shape, and added the detail later, the body & face is one piece, with the yellow dress on top, then the hair. Rainbow cake is over the weekend, eeeeek!!!

Heres a pic of what the colouring page was and the plaque -

Here's the cake in its full glory, Im not impressed with the sugarpaste on this one, the cake was way too bumpy and crumbly, so it doesnt look really round :(

BOBS, hello! The muffin cases I use are just from Home Bargains, nothing special, you get 125 for 99p - this is what they look like -

If you dont have a Home bargains near you, then I also use these from Asda, you get half white half brown, but they hold their shape really well - cupcakes made in these cases -

You're so very special, I wish I was special
