Ive just discovered something on Ebay called Cremebrill?? looks like a mock cream powder?? Has any heard of it, used it? Looks like it could save me some time and money, but dont want to use it if its rubbish. Honest opinions peeps would be appreciated :o

ooh thats spooky XyummyX we decided to post those pics at same time (though it took me about half hour to do it ;)). loving your lion. was tracey mann the one who had loads of books with DVD's that went with it? if so, i watched her model a duck and she made it so simply. she said most novice cake makers go straight into trying to make people and you shouldnt be allowed to make a person until you had done a duck, then a teddy, then maybe a clown (in shapeless jumpsuit so less fidly) then you could do a person. sounded v sensible, only didnt buy a book cos there was too many to choose and had just spotted tilting turntable for £20 which was busy talking myself into needing it v urgently :D

haha, I already have a turn table, I was quite tempted with the cupcake carrier because I saw so many people walking around with them, but I never make cupcakes so talked myself out of it!
Tracey mann was the person who made the flamingo wedding cake, she asked if I wanted the book signed, I kind of shrugged and said yeah ok then, she then got out a pen and signed it, I didn't realise she was the author, felt abit bad because I wasn't very enthusiastic!
sounds like good advice, maybe I will try a duck before I try modelling a person!

I've never seen cremebrill (just had a quick peep at it on eBay) but bet its nowhere near as tasty as buttercream or fresh cream although you never kno till you try!

Thank you so much for posting the cake pictures from the show some of them are breathtaking aren't they. Makeyourmummyproud , Yummy and Monkeymagic I've had a quick look at the details for the show at the NEC in November. I'm in Manchester and don't drive (although my DH does and he really is very obliging) but whether I could persuade him to drive 1.5 hours and sit outside while I drool and spend lots of cash then drive 1.5hrs home is another matter. Then I wondered if I was confident enough to travel alone by train (doubt it). So maybe I'll just have to do the show through you lots eyes:)
    Bindiboo where have you been?
Moontastic can't wait to hear how you get on with your cakes this week. And of course see the pics :)

Thanks for this Monkeymagic, was considering spending a night in Birmingham and going to the show at the NEC but now I know about the cake and bake show this is an option. Will have to make a decision as to which one to go to.
