This sounds gorgeous and I guess could be made with milk chocolate instead of white. How much cake would this be used for or how many cupcakes

    Thanks

I used it for a 3 tier cake tbh -a layer in each sandwich, coated the sides and had some left. But it's just thin layers in the cakes so would do a decent amount of cupcakes :)
If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?

I've made a large cake with ganache instead of buttercream, it was lovely! There are good free turorials on Paul Bradfords website about ganaching a cake.

I'm going to the cake international show in London on friday, really excited! It has some chocolate workshops which I'm really looking forward to because I love working with chocolate! And I've also booked some sugarcraft workshops because I want to learn how to do some modelling!

I want to learn how to make people and animals to go on my cake though! Here's the link if anyone wants to have a look http://www.ichf.co.uk/cake/?show=london

Was the show good? I am thinking of going tomorrow (your fault for posting the link :D)
:wall:Trying to get a grip

I really loved it! The mini sugarcraft workshops were really fun, I made a lion and I love it!
There is also another bit where you can decorate cupcakes, I also watched Jo Wheatley at the baking theatre which was good, she is so nice and signed my book and we had a photo taken, I was so happy because I loved her on great british bake off!
As you walk round there are loads of demonstrations going on so I didn't bother going to any that you had to pay for, I was quite happy just wandering about!
If you go I would set yourself a spending limit though! I bought alot and I would have bought even more if I hadn't have run out of money!
  • WOW,it is very cute,I think it is also very tasty.

    Hiya all,

I have recently been baking a lot of cakes for family and I was wondering can any of you advise about cheaper ways to buy in bulk do any of you have experience in buying flour or butter in industrial sizes and where you get it from?
