It's my birthday next, not sure if I want to make myself a cake though!

These cakes are lush want to make one for my dd 16th how did you manage to stop the top of the collar collapsing on to the cake and did you do the white and dark choc swirls first like the lady in the video also do you think this would only work putting it on to a buttrcreamed cake and not sugarpaste sorry so many questions:)
    Thanks

Are you using the correct glitter. Make sure you're using Edible Glitter to sprinkle your cakes, and not the stuff labelled Non-toxic, which has now been classified as "not for consumption"

I made gorgeous white chocolate butter cream the other day :)

Vanilla extract (judge yourself how much to put in-I pour it in as the mixer bowl is still turning and start from by the beaters,in the mid section of the bowl, and keep pouring until the bowl has done a full turn),probably works out at just over a teaspoon
    750g Icing Sugar
    300g butter
    150g melted milky bar!

Mix the icing sugar and butter, add the vanilla, melt the chocolate, stir it in and mix again.Absolutely gorgeous :)

    aww Thankyou!
The collar is almost set before you wrap it around the cake it wont collapse.
Yeah I did the swirls on the greaseproof paper first, let the swirls set and then put the melted choc on!
It would prob work on sugarpaste because the choc isn't completely set so it would set on to the sugarpaste...if that makes sense?!
I really don't like buttercream or sugarpaste so I used white choc ganache, it's really yummy!

This thread is definitely one of my favourites, I love poking my nose in to see all the fantastic creations you have made!!

    Cake making/decorating really interests me.
I'm looking for a book of children's birthday cakes, do any of you have any recommendations?
    Thanks!

Hi! You should have a look at the Debbie Brown books. Have a look an Amazon as they have most of them and have lots of information and pictures. This was where I started :)

I got the one called '50 Easy Party Cakes'. It has cake and icing recipes in it too. It's worth paying £6-odds for IMO xx

This sounds gorgeous and I guess could be made with milk chocolate instead of white. How much cake would this be used for or how many cupcakes

    Thanks
