  • Hi, couple of questions if anyone can help..

Just wondering what piping bags people prefer to use?
The material ones or throw away?
Also when piping with royal icing do you usually just make your own out of paper?

I haven't bought any decent nozzles and was wondering what the first ones that would be beneficial for me to buy, I would like to buy about 3, just to test out, probably a small one for piping and one for piping buttercream onto cupcakes but not sure what sizes/what these are called?

    Can anyone recommend?

    Thanks everyone

Made a fresh cream, eggless, fresh fruit birthday cake. For an 11 year old that likes football.

I use the plastic disposeable piping bags, I get mine from Sainsburys when they are on offer.

The Wilton 1M Nozzle seems to be the most popular nozzle for doing swirls on cupcakes and also the Wilton 2D Nozzle for Rose Swirls.

I also buy the Sainsburys disposable piping bags. Sainsburys also sell a tala piping set for about five pounds, it has about five nozzles in. It's a great starter kit and the nozzles seem to be holding up with lots of use.

Had my first try at making sultana muffins earlier...

They look good, but any ideas why the one at the front is the only one which looks like a 'proper' muffin, with cracks on top?

I use disposable bags. When piping with royal icing in different colours I wrap it in cling film, to save keep changing bags
