I've just been looking at this recipe as recommended by Annie H and if you look further down the page at the Comments section, it can be used to carve. HTH.

Brilliant, thanks! I was looking at that recipe yesterday. Think I might have to have a trial run :) Thanks again :)

    See! They look great!
Where did you get your nozzel from?

I got the nozzle from a local cake shop. I went in asking for a Wilton 1m and 2D but they dont sell them and she recommended a plastic nozzle which is the swirl one. Still going to get the Wilton ones as I prefer metal and want to do the rose effect. Quite pleased though with what I did, just need to do some more. In laws thought they were great lol

You can use liquid glucose for modelling chocolate, it can be bought in tesco, sainsburys etc. Not sure if or how well golden syrup works for it.

Thanks for this. Do you know how much I would need? Would it be the same quantity as the corn syrup? Cheers

Wondering if anyone can help? Whenever I make chocolate cake it cracks on the top, argh! I'm sure it's my rubbish oven (new one is sat taunting me, not hooked up yet :(). Is it something I'm doing wrong? Rather confused by this as 'white' cakes come out fine, it's just chocolate ones. I made the recipe suggested, thanks nat82, and its got a really deep canyon in a circle around the top. I need to carve the body of an aeroplane for next week, so any help would be appreciated please! Thank you very much! :)

    Hi

The only thing I can think of is the oven is set to high, Do you bake it in the centre of the oven and waht number is the oven on? I sounds as if the cale is cookin to quick on the outside which will cause it to crack as it waits for the inside to cook

    HTH
