bindiboo, what gorgeous cakes and I love the multi-coloured icing and the way you've made the petals for the roses.

The Range has Wilton disposable bags in a box, but it would be cheaper to buy some on Ebay. I got my first nozzle from a cake shop but will get more from Ebay as I cant find the Wilton ones near me.

I've made my hubby a valentines cake for tomorrow. He'll have to take it to work though because I'm trying to lose weight! I wish I'd had a bit more time and I would have covered the board.

  • Does anyone have a decent buttercream recipe? Mine is never thick enough, and never pipes all that well. It normally comes out like this http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v68/loaded__gun/Cupcake1.jpg

Always double the amount of icing sugar to my quantity of unsalted block butter. I add my flavouring and if it's too thick (which it never has been) I add a splash of milk.
