I been told its cost of ingredients, packaging, cases then add on 75% to cover your labour and gas/elec. but you could charge more0 -
Hi,
does anyone know where I can get approx 5kg of sugarpaste cheap? The cheapest I can find is 5 x 1kg blocks at asda for £10.25.
thanks0 -
Bindoboo - loving the cupcakes!!
Becs - the cake looks stunning!
Here are pics of the cupcakes I made for work for Valentines Day -You're so very special, I wish I was special :dance:0 -
Oh Bindiboo I'm such a dope in my head I knew u'd put evaporated milk in but in my typing finger I got carried away with condensed:-) Recently made a sort of chocolate ganache using condensed milk which got rave feedback (I didn't try the cake cos I'm not keen on chocolate cake!)
Moosetastic your cup cakes are making my mouth water:-)
Wookeyhall1 my local cake decorating supplier sells "bulk boxes" of sugarpaste but it works out dearer than you've quoted from As*a but think its a better quality paste to start off with. Noticed since Christmas the supermarkets own brand of sugarpaste is almost £3 per kilo so grab as*as before it goes up :-) I'll be along tomorrow to stock up on some at that price, it usually has a good long date on.The secret of Christmas

I wondered if anyone can help me with portion guides? I can't seem to find a decent one online and hoped somebody cold point me in the right direction? I'm looking to find out how many portions you'd get from a cake. It's for a wedding cake and I'd hate to get the numbers wrong! Thanks x
is these any good? http://www.pastrywiz.com/cakes/servings.htm

country life butter is currently on offer in asda @ 250g for £1
hope this helps some people xx0 -
Thanks for that! Big help!
Now, my next question! How many people should your cake cater for? Should you make for the total number of guests attending or only a certain percentage? Thanks.0 -
