Thanks for all the tips on this thread!
1) OP for the deal
2) The confirmation that 82A m/b and 1.71 could be d/g
3) The links to the tools to get me from 1.71 to 1.5 to 3.02A and then B
4) The tips on getting the case from GAME (free P&P) noticed on the grabbit board the case is £4.99 at the Virgin megastores, and less at MS clearout.
5) The help with the links and where to put ISO and transcoding infor for video. I settled on Xilisoft, seems good so far, and the Elaborate Bytes software for DVD to PSP
What a great thread! And a decent bunch of clever people!Seth.0 -
MyUserNamesTaken wrote:Firstly, downgrade your PSP to 1.5 firmware using the link below (follow the instructions in the link to the letter). Update the PSP to 3.02OE-B. Make sure you install Recovery too, otherwise you won't be able to change the kernal to 1.5.

Then update the PSP from 3.02OE-B to 3.03OE-A using the following link:

Thanks for this great link I did the downgrade upgrade from the first link and have been on 3.02B for a week or so I wanted to go up to £.03OE-B
The links to 3.03OE-A are on the post but recently I've seen people chatting about the new AVC support etc in the newer 3.03OE-B release.
But the instructions here seemed complex compared to the ones I've followed thanks to advice on this thread.
If there is a newbie installer for 3.03OE-B please let me know!Seth.0 -

MyUserNamesTaken wrote:Use the second link in the post of mine that you quoted. It now has a noob's easy installer for 3.03OE-B, as well as the 3.03OE-A installer. You'll need to upgrade to 3.03OE-A first. Read that thread and you'll know what to do.
Thanks I'll give it a go!
the 3.03OE-B would not run as I was in 3.02OEB. So set the Kernel to 1.5 I did this by switching to recovery (hold down the right button on the top of the PSP when it powers on) configuration, system kernel. I pressed X it went from 3.02 to 1.5. Backed out of the menu. Restart 3.03OEA update ran fine.
Then ran 3.03OEB no problems!
ThanksSeth.0 -
The kernel setting for 3.03 in recovery menu is for the GAME folder.
You can leave the setting at 3.03 and any emulator or program that requires the 1.5 subset can be placed in a folder called GAME150 in the PSP memstick.0 -
This is available again!
