I'd say its very very simple to downgrade your PSP then install custom firmware.
It could be that those who brick their PSPs have the wrong files on their memory sticks or some parts of their memory sticks are corrupt due to being fakes so the PSP is flashed with a corrupt file hence a brick!0 -

Nah, it was more simple than that. Those who bricked theirs didn't read the instructions properly, or forgot to disable their plug-ins, etc. My 2gb sticks are both fake. I've used both when messing with firmware. Never had a problem. In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

Don't bother with Devhook - you don't need it. I suggest you take a look around the various PSP forums to get an idea of the various apps, homebrew games, etc, you can put on your psp. I'd also advise you to avoid doing anything that could brick your psp (like some of the psp customisation apps). In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

The only thing touching my PSPs flash0 is DA's custom firmwares. Not going to bother with icon hacking, font hacking etc.0
