            I saved my money. I installed Linux Mint Cinnamon - when I check my settings, I see that my flatscreen TV already looks sharp, sub pixel font rendering is already enabled. It couldn't be any clearer!:rotfl:
Why waste money on Microsoft rubbish and waste more time and effort needing to tweak settings given strange names like 'Clear Type'?0 -

            And here I went out and bought a 4k monitor to improve clarity!
Cleartype is good if you're using a TV as a computer monitor. Most TV's are not built to be used as monitors, but this can help improve text clarity.0 -
