The 11 second "caller hang up" is what I get when using most spoofed CLIs, whether I am using FireFly, X-lite (403 forbidden), SNOM, or other software phone. Use a non-spoofed number, or a spoofed CLI that looks like it could be a genuine number then they work.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

I can't get 1899 voip to work on Firefly now for my genuine home number - and I am sure its because I tried to use it with a "spoofed" number as I have it on two pc's and they stopped working at different times after I tried the spoof number.
I have reinstalled Firefly on one but not change, though I haven't done the clean reinstall they tell you to on their site which includes editing the registry.
I can use Firefly on 18866 though, but their charges are slightly higher for mobiles so want to get 1899 working again.
    Any more suggestions please ?

is there any difference use SIP or IAX in general ? I have set up IAX on Firefly really just because there were less fields to fill in !

IAX seems to be a more stable system, as it requires less ports, so less likely to give problems.

thanks BexTech - any suggestion to get 1899 working on voip now for me ? or shall I take up the suggestion to register again ? I don't want to lose the ability to use 1899 from my home phone though, because I presume I will have to remove numbers or cancel my existing account ? thanks

I'm puzzled by why it's not allowing you to use a real phone number, so at the moment have no suggestions.

1899 software has the same result.

The original account CLI was not spoofed
shall I take up the suggestion to register again ?

It would be instructive to have another account holder re-register. Are you a low-value customer too? I registered the second account in my wife's name with a different email and credit card, just to be on the safe side. The original account working from the landline has not been touched.

My money's on a lock-out for customers generating no revenue. Fair enough.

I use both 18866 and 1899 from home and mobile, with about £5 a month on both.
I think I locked myself out by using the spoof number because it happened first on my laptop, but my desktop 1899 voip still worked then until I used a spoof number on there.
My own fault really, I wanted to make a call from a sipgate number that I have with another geographic number - nothing sinister, just "for fun" to a mate.
I'm not surprised that they have stopped you using any number that you have regsitered on your account, because (again for fun) I had shown my kids how I could make a phone call with a CLI of one of their mobile numbers which I added onto my account for a few minutes demo.
Anyway, I will try registering another account, but I presume a phone number can only be on one account ?

I've now added a spoofed (Sipgate) number to the original account list. Logging on to 1899VOIP with that CLI allows calls.

I give up. If I can make free calls, that's all I ask.
