    Hi everyone,
try as i might, i simply cannot get x-lite to work with sipgate and 1899. I have set it up exactly as described by BexTech and opened all the ports suggested on the sipgate.co.uk website. It says logged on (with my 1899 number) but i cannot make calls. Nor can I receive them via my sipgate no.

    Any ideas?
    Cheers, Rik

When I phone any PSTN number then the person I'm phoning to can hear me well all the time,
however I can hear him only for the first 2-3 seconds and then there is silence but he can still hear my voice.
However when I phone not from Sipura841 but from laptop using the program SJphone everything is ok. and I can talk.

You need to get in touch with the manufacturers of the phone and also contact 1899 about the problem.

I'm afriad I can't be of much help but other people on these boards may have an idea what's causing the problem.

    otherwise go to

    http://www.voipuser.org/forum_index.html

    http://www.voip.org.uk/forums/

etc and ask for advice. The majority of people here are moneysavers, who may be more aware than your average Joe but I expect most people aren't very tech savvey. for example I'm supposedly a tech savey mse user yet I know very little.

keep an eye on this thread and post your problems on it.

I just downloaded the 1899 VOIP software and all I got was the XP Antispy programme, should there be anything else? Also a question about headset connections. I have three connections in the back of my computer to which my PC speakers are connected. Where would I plug the headset into?

Mine has simple onboard soundcard - mic, headphones, speakers. Headphones are in green. The symbols don't look brilliant but I reckon blue for microphone, red speakers. If you have a 5.1 card someone else can help

I have a Sipura SPA-2000 and have configured one port for 1899 and experience the same problem. I am going to look into it as soon as I get time, as being able to get completely free calls via my normal DECT phone is very appealing!

Sorry I can't help right now but I'll be back!

    cheers,
    Richard.

normally, green is for main output (speakers), blue is for main input (line level) and red is for a microphone (can be mono, can be stereo).

    Hi all,
just started using 1899 and 1899 software for outgoing calls and sipgate for incoming voip calls with xlite software and a voip handset (skpe phone that was purchased in error but at least works only as a handset, cannot use keypad)

Bextech ,thanks for detailed post on how to use x lite for both (1899 and sipgate) but are there any advantages of doing this ? what are the advantages of firefly? if i enter my 1899 details into a third party program is it possible that my details are not secure and someone could run me up a big voip 1899 bill?

Occasionally my bt voyager 205 will lock up since I installed all this, any ideas?

Lastly, can I send a fax using this?

    Thanks

    Paul
