David lloyd gym membership.....prices??

a 3 month membership would be a Junior Membership (14-17 years old), under Flexible, (so you can do it for 3 months not 12) would be £65 per month0

Anyone at the DL at Gidea Park? I'm going on a £14 for 14 day trial and then probably get a membership - been quoted £90/m for one individual, rackets/all time... wondering how that works out?? Any bargains out there?? Seem reasonable??0

If your smart all of you will stop going there, then when they nick the price down by a lot then start going to teach them not to put it up the moment they do stop going again until those money grubbers learn their lesson.
Yes I know its a genius idea that's guaranteed to work. If only people are smarter in this world /sigh
Want to stay in shape run outside for an hour or two, buy weights a tread mill for house, and use them for a couple years until companies put the prices on gym's down properly which they do eventually, you know why there are special offers because a lot of people stopped going to the gym David lloyds and then they started to do special offers to attract customers back, please learn your lessons. once they bump up the prices use your treadmill at home, the weights you bought and run outside for a bit.
You'll get fit and save tons of money, David Lloyds isn't cheap and its not worth it trust me I'm speaking from experience. for a single person adult its pretty much £1000 a year. Say that out loud one thousand pounds a year... Think twice wouldn't you like to save some money for a rainy day? Treadmill + weights is an investment in the long run until such time as these gym's hit between 30-50 quid a month which is what all gym's should be worth.
Why should I trust your experience when I can trust my own?
I'm an intelligent person and I think that DL is worth the cost. That's my own decision to make and I don't have to justify it to you or anyone else. If you don't like DL, don't use them, but don't call people idiots because they don't make the same choices as you.
If you just want somewhere to do a bit of cardio or weight training in the cheapest way possible, DL is definitely not for you. However, if (like me) you also play racquet sports and enjoy swimming in the open air, they are excellent. I can easily spend hours of my free time at my local DL club, which I might otherwise be spending in a less healthy and/or more expensive way.
You're right, if people boycotted DL they would probably drop their prices (if they didn't go out of business first). But why should I boycott them? I like them and I'm not about to cut off my nose to spite my face.
Please keep your ideas of how others should spend their money to yourself.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -

Thanks for your help but I've read reviews online and I found a website that had +400 1* reviews and only a couple of dozen 5* reviews for GP DL.
I went last night to Clearview on Warley Hall Ln (Virg Active) and given it's a 6-10 minute drive from me (Upminster) versus getting off Gallows Corner on peak travel times, and it's £10 a month cheaper, I've decided to go for it...... Thanks for your post though0 -

I joined in May and I pay less than £38.25 a month for my DL gym membership (when paid up front for the year) and also got a month free, although the £36 setup fee kind of offset that free month. Seems worth it to me.0 -
Further to my last asking about gidea park DL..... I left my details with them 3 times, twice by phone and once in person, and only now (is Wed - since last Friday) have they bothered to actually call me back... hence I've gone VA, who were very thorough and came back to me when they said they would. Clearview VA on Warley Hall Ln. Also, facilities seem identical less the squash and badminton courts, and it's £10 a month cheaper with no joining fees. I'm paying £81/m, can reserve courts on the day, get all classes for free incl Yoga, Karate, Spin, and many others (for 10er extra I can get 2 weeks in advance booking) and there were no joining fees and I can cancel with 2 weeks notice (or for 71/m I can tie myself into a 12 month contract... figured the extra 10er was good insurance in the event of injury/red herrings..!
Cheers

Hi,
Anyone know the prices of DL Bristol Westbury? I would like to know the prices for peak and off peak & vantage. We are currently on 14 day membership for £14 and child £7. When asking reception about prices it's like getting blood out of a stone! Why all the secrecy? Just put the prices on website.
Anyone a Bristol member???????????????? I suppose I will have to wait until 14 days are over and wait for the hard sale.0 -
HERE ARE PRICES FOR DAVID LLOYD WESTBURY BRISTOL. Joining fee is £36 for adult, £11 for a child. Off Peak is Mon-Fri 6.30am-4pm & Sat & Sun after 2pm.
Vantage includes an area next to inside pool called Celsius which is exclusive only for Vantage members and includes a jacuzzi, sauna, solarium etc. You also get free towels with Vantage, 12 free day guest passes & solarium tokens (if you want to risk cancer!) If you sign up before end August 2014 you get 1 month free so 13 months for price of 12. You can freeze membership on Standard 12 month but not Flexible 3 month (for e.g. if you were to have an operation or break a limb etc.)
The arrows and underlined bits are what the salesman thought might suit our family so please ignore.0
