Hi, my wife, myself and our two 3 year old children are members, we pay £155 month in Cardiff, not including racket use but we are peak time users.
Our two children go to tennis lessons and this was about £85 each per term. We don't pay the extra to use other locations or get towels and to be honest we would not really need the towels but I don't think it would hurt DL to let us use other locations if we were holidaying near one. We enjoy the location, I find the staff friendly and have not had any issues, we have been members for about 3 years. And here is the bit others might not agree with, yes it's expensive compared to other places, but we like that because it means we get a better class of people that go there, I get fed up in other places of worrying whether someone will steal something out of your gym bag when you are not looking, in other places I have had my jeans stolen, my towel stolen and my car broken into, in DL my wife has even accidentally left her handbag next to a table and its been there when we went back 10 mins later. To us, that's worth paying the extra for.0 -
I had my training floats stolen from the side of the pool in a DL gym!0

I cant remember the exact price, but i was offered for a single membership £70ish then an additional 10% corporate discount. This was for the David Lloyd in Renfrew, Scotland.
Cant remember if that was with racquets or not.0 -
Those prices I am reading are ridiculous.
All you people are being ripped off Anything above £50 is ridiculous. You don't need all those facilities to keep fit.0 -
Wife's just been quoted £84.50/month, with 10% discount for paying a year up front. That's at DL Oxford, no rackets.0

We got fed up of the poor customer service we've been receiving lately. No more feeling you are part of an exclusive club, I get a better welcome when I go to the leisure centre, so decided to look around. Went to Banatynes. Was positively surprised as gave a similar feel than DL, but was shocked when discovered membership fee is similar than DL, although there is no outdoor space and the gym is more cramped, so in the end, we will be staying with DL but having given notice, we hope they beg us to stay and offer a discount (which is the usual practice at our local centre!).0

David Lloyd are currently doing 14 days for £14 for a family of two adults and their children. This includes all facilities like classes, pool etc.
Membership for myself, my husband and my 4yo would be £150pm or £130pm on a corporate offer, so that's NHS, Police etc.
130x12=1560= a nice holiday0 -

We just joined DL for 3 months with a month and a half free as a family of 4. Total cost including admin fees was £800, roughly £186 a month. 1 and a half months in I think we're getting value for money but basically it's working out me and DD are getting much more than our money's worth, roughly double, whilst the boys exercise regime is generally a mix of computer and cafe. Am glad we just tried it for 3 months initially to see how we'ld use it, think DD and I may join on the 12 month membership later.
Price includes outdoor pool, jacuzzi, indoor pool, sauna, steam room, aerobics, kids club, gym, DD has had a free tennis lesson but more are payable. DD also won a free holiday club day. Can be worth it but you really need to be realistic about your usage.0
