Right I have a photo of the official price list if anyone wants it pm me, I have no idea how to put it on here. £36 admin fee, £98 full individual, £82 full individual off peak before 4pm and after 2pm on weekends, just gym and pool is £82.50, off peak £73.50. These are the basics but there are vantage options, and a more expensive 3 month option. Full family £182, 18-22 £54.500

My husband and I were looking into a DL membership, mainly because it's one of the few in our area (we're in Chester) that offer a creche. I've been reading a few comments on this thread and it appears this is not covered by the membership and the minimum age might be from 3 yo? The DL site is not too clear on these points. Can anyone confirm? Xx0

Hi All,
Bit of an old thread I know but I'm interested in what people think. I've just moved within walking distance of a DL in Leeds and my girlfriend and I have managed to get a free 7 day pass. We're thinking of joining but the monthly fee for the 2 of us is £150 (without rackets) and a £36 per person joining fee. It's really convenient however I can't help feeling like I am being ripped off. I'd love to hear your thoughts.0 -

How are you being ripped off?
You decide that the facilities (and convenience) are worth paying for, or you don't. It's pretty straightforward.0 -
I was just quoted £94.20 pcm for the Derby DL, £79.25 offpeak for a three month rolling membership. It took so long to get him to give me a price for what I wanted instead of trying to sell me packages, and his attitude was so poor that I couldn't bear the idea of him getting commission on the sale.
Derby Virgin charge £51 anytime for the same thing. I'll probably go with them.Their salespeople are annoying too, but DL's staff are really something special.0 -
If all of you idiots out there can stop paying David Lloyds money all the time they won't be so expensive boycott them and the prices will drop to £50 a month guaranteed, they make enough money inside the gym itself let alone the membership fee's.
If your smart all of you will stop going there, then when they nick the price down by a lot then start going to teach them not to put it up the moment they do stop going again until those money grubbers learn their lesson.
Yes I know its a genius idea that's guaranteed to work. If only people are smarter in this world /sigh
Want to stay in shape run outside for an hour or two, buy weights a tread mill for house, and use them for a couple years until companies put the prices on gym's down properly which they do eventually, you know why there are special offers because a lot of people stopped going to the gym David lloyds and then they started to do special offers to attract customers back, please learn your lessons. once they bump up the prices use your treadmill at home, the weights you bought and run outside for a bit.
You'll get fit and save tons of money, David Lloyds isn't cheap and its not worth it trust me I'm speaking from experience. for a single person adult its pretty much £1000 a year. Say that out loud one thousand pounds a year... Think twice wouldn't you like to save some money for a rainy day? Treadmill + weights is an investment in the long run until such time as these gym's hit between 30-50 quid a month which is what all gym's should be worth.0 -
