Just a coincidence?

I have a French first name and a very common surname. I checked the link and it came up with 2. I did get a message once from someone with the same name as me, was very strange. People always used to laugh when I had to spell my first name to them and then told them my surname, my mum wanted something unusual to go with my common surname.

According to the first website, there's only one of me, and only one of OH.

pipl.com says that there are two of me, and two of him - in very different parts of the country.

But, from the details given, I know that those entries refer to us at our old address, and us at our new address (we've moved about a bit!). I hope that makes sense.

So, the fact that there is more than one entry on pipl.com doesn't necessarily mean that there are two people with the same name - it could be the same person at different addresses.

All the more reason to follow the very sensible (and MSE!) advice to make sure you check your credit rating.

I know for a certain fact that there are only two of me, the other one is a third cousin, but that site says neither of us exist.

Really weird coincidence was a day at the beach and I was trying to get the eldest 3 kids plus the baby into the car. Not with much success!!! So I shouted at the twins about 3 1/2 who were still playing in the sand. L & N Get in the bl**dy car!!!! only to find another set of twins similar age come running ( my two carried on ignoring me) Their Mum really paniced as she thought i was about to abduct them!!! to this day I dont think she totally believed me when i explained i was in fact yelling in stress at my two

I ended up with Alison as my middle name so that, according to my mother, I could choose a 'normal' name if I ever got fed up of my first name. With apologies to Alison's everywhere, including my sister in law to be;). Now there'a situation that could get interesting......

yep I've been looking up everyone :rotfl:on the second site and some of the family moved back in 2002. And they show twice, once at old address and once at new

With my 'formal' name there are 8 of us on the first site, but with the name I use I'm unique.

Scarily, on pipl, it brings up a practically antique photo of me, plus one of DH, and also DS1 and DS3. Not DS2. and if I click on the links to my 'profile', it says I work somewhere I don't, although I have had associations with it.

If I put DH into pipl, it's mostly photos of him you get, including someone's very old wedding photos with us in!

I didn't think our surname was that unusual (although very few people can spell it right!), but our firstnames are very common.

It probably is just a weird coincidence. My name before I got married was not rare, but it wasn't exactly common either. One time at the doctors my name was called out and both me and another woman stood up at the same time. As well as that, two people I know have seperately insisted that in my hometown they've seen a girl who looks identical to me but with blonde hair. I've actually ended up having awkward conversations with strangers who clearly think I'm someone else, I suspect they think I'm this other girl.
