Son's holiday spends - help

My son is going away on his first 'lads' holiday what would be the best way for him to take his money? His accommodation has lots of reports of rooms being broken into (they obviously didn't read these before booking!!!).
TIA for your ideas

Might be best if they have prepaid cards and just don't have much cash on them.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Most hotels have safety deposit boxes, but i'll normally take a couple of hundred in notes and leave the rest in the bank to take out when i need it. Most people who steal from hotel rooms aren't ransackers so they won't spend too much time in the room as they don't know when you'll be back; so it's not too difficult to hide your money (rolled up in socks of in the pocket of some jeans), especially when the person doesn't know there's money there.0

Yes, exact opposite in fact. They normally make the bed, mop the floor and clean the toilet- because they are the MAID.
Normally this practice is also fully endorsed by the hotel manager who shrugs his shoulders, upturned hands and giving it the "what can I do, look.
Anyway,
As stilltheone says , the Travelex cash passport Globe is a great value card0 -
Thanks guys the reports on their accommodation does state that the safes have had things taken out of them!! We are talking incredibly cheap and nasty hotel here!0

For this reason, always have a good quality lockable suitcase and lock your valuables within. You don't want them to steal the card either.0

A locked suitcase / glove box / anything, will tell a thief that what they're looking for is in there. They'll probably steal the suitcase.0 -
Perhaps have some kind of kitty system, so collectively they won't have too much cash on them or in their rooms at the same time.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

I always hide my cash, passport and spare cards in my dirty clothes. If anyone is brave enough to dig through smelly socks and pants then they deserve some reward.0
