    and me ...

Thank you for contacting us. I see that you would like to be able to buy Sainsbury’s White Balsamic Vinegar in larger bottles, possibly 5 Litre. I understand how popular this product has become for household chores.

This has been requested by several of our customers and with this in mind I have passed your comments onto our buyers here at our store support centre. They will take them into consideration at the next range review meeting should enough customers request this product and they will be aware of any requests made by your local store.

Thank you once again for taking the time to contact us and for your continued support.

    Kind regards

    Hiya,

    I just got this reply:

    Dear *******
Thank you for your recent email. I understand you would like us to stock white Vinegar in larger quantities such as 5 litre containers and bicarbonate of soda, preferably in our basics ranges. Having read an article in Sainsbury’s May magazine I can understand your reason for asking for this.

I have enquired if this will happen in the near future and have been told we have no immediate plans to increase the range of these products in our stores. It will however be discussed further at our next range review meeting along with other products mentioned in our magazine article.

Thank you once again for taking the time to contact us and for bringing your proposals to our attention. Your feedback and custom as a loyal customer is much appreciated by our company and is always welcome by us all.

    Kind regards

It wouldn't hurt to email the other stores, as well.
I was shocked when I saw how you couldn't buy big jars of it over here. In the US, you can buy it cheap in big bottles.

I have had the 'Carl Stokes' reply as quoted previously. I think a few more requests from others are required.

    Sent this email:

I have just read the article in the May issue of your magazine suggesting the use of white vinegar and bicarbonate of soda for many cleaning tasks. I had already been considering the idea of using these items myself, but one of the things that puts me off is that they are only availble in small amounts. Is Sainsburys going to start stocking 5 litre containers of white vinegar, and 1kg - 5kg containers of bicarbonate of soda?

    Yours sincerely,

    and got this reply today:

Thank you for contacting us. I understand from your email that you would like our stores to sell larger quantities of white vinegar and bicarbonate of soda.

We always work hard to achieve great availability and we continue to make improvements. We do try to sell as wide a range of items as possible to give our customers choice but we are unable to stock every item in every store. We review sales, store size and location, as well as using local knowledge to decide what products we believe will most appeal to customers who shop there. Our buyers regularly review our ranges to ensure we are meeting our customers’ needs as far as possible.

I am sorry to inform you that we do not have any current plans to sell larger quantities of white vinegar and bicarbonate of soda. However, I can appreciate how helpful this would be to our customers who would like to follow the advice of our May magazine. Please be reassured that I have passed all of your comments onto the relevant team members. They will view your request and take it into consideration for the future.

Thank you again for your email. It is very useful for me to hear about where you feel we can get better. Your views are therefore of real value to me.

    Kind regards
