Can't see why you should find that illegitimate? seems a perfectly acceptable reason to use the bay to me, the driver too could have been disabled?

Yes it's tough when you can't get "your" normal parking spot but come on that comment isn't fair.

And yes I hold a blue badge, never realised anyone was charged as our area doesn't.
My one comment is why do some supermarkets place their 3 or 4 disabled bay right outside of the front door? This is a source of conflict as all the shoppers battle way between the cars and wide open doors and trolleys don't mix well. I'd sooner struggle from a little further away, even if it means stadling the markings.;)

It's because different people need the spaces for different reasons, some need the extra width and some just need the close proximity to the entrance for safety like those with severe autism and thus no sense of danger or like myself with sh1te sight :) I hate being led round car parks, any car can move at any moment but in the BB bays in front of the stoor I know I'm safe and can be much more relaxed and independent when coming and going.[/QUOTE]

Of course I understand that, we all have our own issues, it was just the assumption that someone disabled left in a disabled bay was somehow wrong, sorry, just that hit the nerve ;)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Just to point you've put your last post in a quote under my name lol.

Not sure I know what you mean though about somebody being left in the car I was only replying to the bit about wondering why they were always right outside the entrance.

Some things gone a bit astray, wasn't intentional, probably me, stupid.gif

My original post was in reply to someone who decided a car with a blue badge and a disabled driver inside had no right to park in a disabled bay, check it back.

We do agree on the rest I'm sure, sorry for confusing you, I'm a confused/ing person:A

seeing as this has gone off topic now i want to check something...

Was in lidl carpark yesterday (and i remembered to put my badge on display go me) i saw a bb with marker pen writing where the expiry date is rather than printed like mine... is it real or a fake? the outer edge (tamper proof bit) looked ragged, then again mine did after 2 years use

The topic is actually still well on track fella.

If you look back there are some extreme examples of the lengths some people will go to to "own" a blue badge, it escapes me why but it has to have criminal implications.

Believe me there are people that can alter these things with little or no evidence of manipulation. The ironic fact is that if it looked odd, like yours, it was probably genuine. ;)

I think that's a good point actually if it looked that odd then it was maybe just that the council that issued it filled them in by pen. Surely if somebody was trying to fake an ex Katy date them they'd put a bit more effort into it than that?

Don't know tbh, maybe others will post and say their badge was filled in by hand not printed too. Or maybe it was just a really !!!! attempt to falsify the expiration date lol.

    - that's easy, if the seal is broken or the face / reverse is disfigured in any way its 110% fake and should be confiscated .. .. till the issuing authority says otherwise
    - if it turns out to be genuine and was damaged or defaced by for example a child with a felt nib, would I apologise ?

No I would not, a replacement is cheap. Put conversely if the authority charged £100 per BB people would take proper care and make sure they were not defaced or ' accidentally ' damaged. If it was openly fraudulent. the evidence thus far shows people who commit BB [ theft ] fraud also have no insurance / MOT / etc.

My badge is still pretty tidy but the clock on the other hand well that's looking worse for wear but it's cardboard so that's not really surprising.

I'm looking forward to seeing what our fancy new anti fraud badges will look like.

My badge was filled in by hand using a black felt pen.
