  • I have seen pictures of the new design proposed badge. I think it looks smart. Will be nicer than the old one. Hopefully will do away with the forgeries too.

In fraud terms it's the fully integrated dBASE and the capacity for instant telephone or puter checks, a bit like the DVLA / insurance database / NPR system, and the integrated inTRANET / Online requests & payment that make it ' fir for purpose '.

    - if - the DfT ever gets up and rolin' ;)

It was due Sept this year, the nearest I can get is :

    - go-live will be 1 January 2012
    - existing contract with The Stationery Office expires 31 December 2011
    - from 1 January 2012, LAs will only legally be able to issue the new-style badge to all new applicants, renewals and replacements

I try to be an even-handed poster and accept that you at times may not agree with these opinions or how I choose to express them, this is not my problem. I posted some info earlier.
    From 1 January 2012
authorities will only legally be able to issue or replace an old-style badge with a Blue
Badge that complies with this legislation.

Local authorities should therefore manage existing stock levels of the old-style badge
and make arrangements to securely destroy any stock that might be left over from 1
January 2012. The old-style badges will continue to be valid until they expire, which
might be up until December 2014 for any badges issued this year.
My badge expires in August so I will get a new one in 2014.
(unless I can find a buyer who will pay £2,500 to £3,000 :j see website below)

P.S I am not trying to sell my blue badge it is a joke:)

LOL its all very nice - but I like the new design - well what I have seen. All the new hologram, bank note standard printing and patterns. It looks professional!

Are we allowed to pull slanty grins in our pictures then too? :) That would not pass on a passport lol.

LOL I think the passport photo rules are same as DVLA. You will even need to nominate Registration Details of the cars you will be in the main using with the badge.

Do you get your badge by Automatic Right (HRM DLA) or by discretionary Jetta?
