Do you get your badge by Automatic Right (HRM DLA) or by discretionary Jetta?
I had mine through automatic entitlement due to being registered blind, though I do now get HRM also."Life is what you make of it, whoever got anywhere without some passion and ambition?0 -
I am waiting for mine to be renewed. My old one has run out too. Wish the new one would hurry up and come.
The new style badge i posted - the serial number will actually tell you something about the applicant. It contains date of birth and gender in a scrambled format.0 -
Same as your driving licence has always done. Allows the Police to see if the number and person should be correct.0

On the new one there's an alpha numeric reference number, that single number will be all that's needed for enforcement, querying etc. It will come back with all your personal details.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. So they should just be able to scan the barcode on them through the windscreen and get the number and all the details that are linked to it."Life is what you make of it, whoever got anywhere without some passion and ambition?0 -

Yes I think the idea is that a parking attendant can read the barcode from the new blue badge and it comes up on the terminal they carry that it is legitimate plus anything else they need to know.0

BARCODE they are there for the purpose of being scanned with a barcode reader."Life is what you make of it, whoever got anywhere without some passion and ambition?0 -

That's what yourself & A Flock Of Sheep say, I say different.
I maintain its not copyable and wondered from the first time I saw the spec about Nov last year what the heck it was for, other than a general manufacturing purpose and not BB user info specific.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. Not copyable? A barcode reader doesn't copy it, it just scans it to read the information from it. I've written barcodes in programming for registers in colleges as our company did further and higher education, students and fee's software.
I printed one that stored my name just for the hell of it
