Spent £3.34 last night...£2 on snacks (we were going to the cinema and its cheaper to buy sweeties at the supermarket than £8 on popcorn at the cinema!), £1 on a yummy loaf of Burgens and £0.34 on some reduced pain au chocolat for a special breakfast! A naughty spend but it snuck in before the beginning of my first GC

By the simple expedient of forgetting to go shopping - and then doing what would have been my last shop of August just *after* payday (so I'm counting it as the first shop of September instead) - I have come in under budget, spending ~£84 from a target of £120. Go me! I have been away quite a lot though, and other expenses have hit the roof (fuel for my travels, and the final gas bill before moving suppliers - eek!) so a bit of a mixed month all in all. See you over in September...0

I would like to rejoin for Sept please. Summer holidays etc have run away with the budget a bit and need to get back on track. My month has already started as paid last week and run from one payday to the next. I have a load of food in but struggle not to buy bargains that I know are cheap. Hmm, not sure how to tackle that one!
So target of £200 until 28th Sept. Spent so far £49.750 -

Hi,
Been reading through this thread this morning and would like to join in, with the ever increasing price of food this is much needed in our household of two adults and one very hungry 2 year old!
Our "month" starts when hubby gets paid on the last Friday of each month so september started for us on the 26th August, and as it's a five week month for us our budget should be £340 (food, toiletries and cleaning products).
We've already spent a total of £188.99 so have £151.01 left, roughly about £37.75 a week.
I just hope we can get close to it this month as last month we were £129 over and we need to save for a holiday in october.£2013 in 2013 £866.71/£2013
