decided to set septembers target for £100, just for me,, as at mo i have a broken wrist, and buy some ready prepared easy to cook meals. will go back to cooking from scratch, once the plaster cast comes off in 6 or 8 weeks time
loves to knit and crochet for others
  • Could i join please. My aim for September is £240. I do have a reasonable amount of food in the cupboards and freezer. Will see how it goes as want to make cutbacks where i can. Many thanks.

  • Hi thought i would stop lurking and post, i think everyone here does so well with their budgets and have decided if its ok i would like to join in.

With the children being off school and myself off work for the summer we seem to have spent a fortune on groceries, in fact well over £400:eek:, this is for 2 adults, 2 children 2 guinea pigs and a cat, we also have 2 dogs but OH buys their food in big bags, i just buy them chews:).

So for September i have decided to set a target of £300, ideally i would like it to be £250, but will come down slowly, it should be doable as freezers and cupboards are full. This will be from today until 29th sept so just over 4 weeks.

    Spends today Tesco- £21.64
    Co op - £5.84
  • I would like to join again please tried months ago and am now just a lurker but really need to get in check, I have sorted through freezer and made a list sorted through cupboards and fridge so am raring to go. I have a chilli in the slowcooker and am determined I am going to say £400 for the month just to be on the safe side (ME, DH, DD1 (19) back off to uni soon DD2 (17) and DD1 (16) Dog, Cat, Turtles and Fish) but hope to come in much less than this as have so much to use up.

This will include all breakfasts, packed lunches for four and evening meal plus all cleaning stuff etc. as said before anything bought from the supermarket. Thanks for all who run this thread you are brilliant!
    Determined to do better

Its suprising how you can spend less when you see exactly where its going.A debit card is painless as you don't see the actual cash going out of your purse

This has been my big downfall. My turning point came the other day when I had been shopping with DD2, got home and realised that just lately I had been paying with my debit card and not even noticing how much my shopping had come too:eek::o.
I am now going to stick to cash as I know I find that much harder to part with (and DD2 loves feeding cash into the self service tills and waiting to see if it pays out :rotfl:)

I've been a lurker and think I'll join for September! If I let my other half do the shopping on her own she doesn't use a list and somehow spends £80-£100 a time (per week, for 2 of us)!!

We plan meals so should be easily able to do that for £60, we don't really drink alcohol either so haven't got that expense.

So for September I'm setting a budget of £240 which should be plenty.

We are also saving for our wedding which should motivate her!

May I please be put on the list for September?

I have a budget of £100 for two adults. Intending this to include cleaning stuff/toiletries etc. I am off work on just SSP and my fella is moving in bit by bit lol and will be here full time from 12th Oct works ft himself but will be taking over a lot of my costs like paying rent/ctax etc as I will then also lose my WTC.

He's not lived away from home properly before and during our shopping trips - he helps me with that as I have a slipped disc/sciatica - I can tell there's going to be a bit of conflict on some things! I'm a value queen and he likes his brands and gets through an awful lot of loo roll!!
I just did a huge T online shop with a £15off code last week and bought lots of makings and bulky things and the freezer is full so aside from milk and bread I don't think will need to do any shopping for at least 2 weeks :)
Trying very hard to be frugal and OS - just plodding on and doing my best!

Think I had better have ahigher budget than normal £300.00. 3 adults 1 dog one cat and an extrra adult every other weekend.
