Today should be my last shop for August and it looks as though I am coming in under budget. It could have been even better but my resolution to stop buying chewing gum and pop began to flag last week. I thought I'd done well and decided to treat myself to a small amount of pop and gum ..... the small amount turned into a big amount and as a result I spent £53.52 in the space of a week. So I am swearing off again and this time I'm going to reduce my budget for the month so that I can't persuade myself that it would be OK to buy some. I'm also going to pay off some of my mortgage now so that it just isn't available. A win win solution form my point of view since I am also determined to pay off my mortgage by the end of the year.
So can you put me down for £100 for September
Good luck to everyone in the coming month.

Well I no longer sit at a penny over budget, my OH hadn't told me that he was out of lager and I won't deprive him of it as he compromises enough by having it at home rather than spending a fortune in the pub and he has a stressful job with long hours. I looked up on the internet the best deals and decided on Mr Ts 3 for £20, whilst there I decided I would start a 2nd purse but I have only outlaid £10 to get huggies nighttime pull ups which for some reason are all £3.65 a pack except the size my daughter wears which are £2.43 a pack at the minute and I had 3 £1 off vouchers so bargain, also bought some toilet roll on offer so these are now safely under my bed.
Whilst there I managed to get a loaf of bread for 60p which I thought would be better than paying full price in a couple of days so thats now in the freezer, some grated mature cheese reduced from £3 to £1.35 and a couple of other bits I would have bought later in the week (probably the 1st september lol!!) So now I am nearly £29 over budget but a little better than last month and shouldn't need to spend anymore until friday. To get to Disneyland Florida 20160 -
I had hoped that I would not have another update this month but alas here I am.
So another 74p spent on some crusty bread from my pate that needed to be used up tonight. Now I need to be strict with myself and get a bit better with my meal planning.
So my grand total for my first month's challange is £164.74 with an overspend of £14.74. Considering my GC target was a stab in the dark I am not too horriffied. Must do better next month though!!No buying toiletries Graduated May 2017Decluttered 2016 2469 items, 2017 1580 items :j2018 3060 itemsSealed Pot Challenge No 0380 -
Well, I didn't think I'd be posting again until at least the September thread opened, but OH has inadvertently kicked our September GC off with a £40 spend in MrT whilst I was at work yesterday as 'the fridge was empty'!! <I promise you, it wasn't, it just wasn't full of 'easy' food like sausage rolls and cooked ham - plenty of potential meals in there>
I really didn't want to spend so much right at the start of the month; we had plenty in the freezer / store cupboards, £10 of milk, bread, yogs etc would have done it! The shop consisted of mostly meat, cheese and fizzy drinks. He also bought frozen chips, fancy mini chocolate cakes and ice cream as a treat for me as I'd been working long days all weekend. So sweet of him really. But slightly annoying none the less... :rotfl:
Anyway, £260 left for the rest of the month, and now 4 weeks precisely until payday. We are now a full household of 6 so this is hopefully doable! I get the impression that now that mum is back on the scene from her hols she may insist on shopping too, in which case I will get back to you and adjust the budget accordingly...MFW Sept 2013 Starting balance: £101160.59 25 years

Good Morning
I hope you all had a great Bank Holiday weekend. We did a car boot so now have a few more pennies and some much needed space in loft. I got some good reductions yesterday at sainsbugs, fish pie for 35p, posh dauphinoise for 80p, smoothies for 40p. I also managed to list freezer contents and meal plan so all in all a very mse weekend. Will total receipts later but think I have kept to budget this month.

Meant to update this on Saturday and never got round to it! I spent way more than I meant to at Morrisons, £28.28. At least that's the last shop for the month and I can start September's shop at the end of the week.
So, declaring August at £239.86. So about £20 over what I intended to spend.
Can I please be marked down for £240 in September? Hopefully I can make it stretch the five weeks it needs to.
Dec GC; £208.79/£220
