  • I have just spoken to the Advertising Standards Agency and they want people to complain via their webform about this 'offer'. (http://asa.org.uk/Complaints/How-to-complain/Online-Form/Step1.aspx)

The person on the phone wouldn't give me a cast iron decision on if this is misleading, but its borderline. They also agreed with me that sending an offer of 2000 to a list of 8million is not acceptable.

Was also told that Orange should have made a reasonable estimate of demand for advertised products and must be able to demonstrate that they have made a reasonable estimate of the likely response and that they were capable of meeting that response.

Yeah but then Orange or any company thinking of doing similar offers WON'T DO THEM AGAIN if people complain en mass and give them headache / grief about it...

So best to let it go and wait till the next great offer and keep your fingers crossed they post a direct / quicker / correct link for everyone..

Its still good marketing for them so long may these deals continue , once its gone its gone but there will hopefully be others to come ( saved 20 squid on my Ocado shopping and over 20 quid on a perfume this week so am not exactly SUFFERING am I without the extra fiver!! ) ;)

You know what .... I reckon the first link was WRONG!!! ... And thats the one I was using all along..

Only found the second link right at the end so I reckon was wasting my time all along!! :(

No, the first link was fine, I got in that way. You just had to click on the orange prepay card at the top of the list (which said sold out, but still worked).

Personally it should have been a draw. Also annoying you've got people getting 75 codes. Should have been 1code per IP address.

Talk about a bad loser! This is pathetic.

It was made abuntantly clear there were only 2000 available and Martin also loves telling everyone how many people are subscribed to his newsletter so this was all common knowledge.

Exactly WHAT are you implying was misleading?!?!

i can see him being on his own with his complaint anyway.

application process is not getting past first page, wont let you find your address when you enter your postcode

I've managed to get the address in a few times (you get a drop down box with all addresses with the same postcode), but not managed to get to the next page.
