I think the people who have stupid amounts of codes are mean. The offer was avalible for 2000 PEOPLE not 4 four one person. The idea behind these cards is for people with bad credit history etc to have a master card.

    Not nice! Shame on you!
Congrats to those who did get one code tho :) xx

You can hardly blame people for trying to get more than 1 - it is free money after all - who is going to say no?

And it isn't aimed at people with bad credit history - it doesn't give you credit, doesn't improve your rating and doesn't do much that a bank account couldn't do better.
  • I have just spoken to the Advertising Standards Agency and they want people to complain via their webform about this 'offer'. (http://asa.org.uk/Complaints/How-to-complain/Online-Form/Step1.aspx)

The person on the phone wouldn't give me a cast iron decision on if this is misleading, but its borderline. They also agreed with me that sending an offer of 2000 to a list of 8million is not acceptable.

Was also told that Orange should have made a reasonable estimate of demand for advertised products and must be able to demonstrate that they have made a reasonable estimate of the likely response and that they were capable of meeting that response.

sorry champ, but it's not misleading as Orange themselves didn't send out the deal to 8 million people.

(and i'm sure you wouldn't be complaining if you'd been successful yourself?)

Yet it wasn't Orange who sent and promoted to 8million people. MSE did, and MSE stated exactly how many there were, and said they would go quickly.

Talk about a bad loser! This is pathetic.

It was made abuntantly clear there were only 2000 available and Martin also loves telling everyone how many people are subscribed to his newsletter so this was all common knowledge.

Exactly WHAT are you implying was misleading?!?!

I've managed to get a code but can't apply. Did they only send out 2000 codes?
  • I just dont think its nice for some people to sit there and get 4 and others to get none. Maybe Im the only one that likes to share! I applied got one code that was it! Prepaid cards were started for people with financial difficulties there are plenty of articles about to verify this.

I wouldn't get up set about not getting one these offers go super quick but i would be peeved if others were (are) bragging!
