    Hi,

jut popping in to say that I've crashed out of the challenge by pouring all my sealed pot savings into debt repayment. I banked £181 in total & my target was to reach £350 so I still had a way to go, but am sure I've done the right thing :)

Thanks for running the challenge & good luck to all
    xx

Hi Lula, that's nothing to be concerned about as personally I'm sure you've done the right thing. I'd far sooner you get shot of the debt than keep your money in the pot. You wouldn't be the first, I promise you.

Also, it doesn't mean to say you can't carry on saving; we've still a way to go before Christmas, or you could start saving now (or whenever you wished) and simply continue it through to next year. The emphasis is on saving...that's all, so why not think about it.

If you do stay wth us, and I sincerely hope you do, could you kindly add your No to your sig for me? I'm hoping you'll be staying and......saving for whatever you wish! Well done with the debt-busting! ;)

    Hugs, Sue x

Good saving, Elmo, e4rub and bargainlover.

3p in the pot for me...it was DH's, but.....! :D

  • Hi, can i join please. Its a bit of a tall ask, but I would like to be put down for £500 by xmas (or December 1st). As im doing a grocery challenge (started last month and failed miserably, but this is a different month), im hoping to really use up the many supplies i have, thus releasing more money, well thats the theory.

Of course you can join Save Dosh! A very warm welcome to you. biggrin.gif Have great fun saving. You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on post 3 of page 1. Please read through post 1 as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge. Please pop your number on your sig, it helps so very much

I'm sure it makes sense, Save Dosh and don't worry about it being a tall ask....I've put the £500 Target alongside your name and number, but if it's not quite possible that's fine, but at least it'll urge you on to try your best! ;)

Hiya Mel. Just how much heavier can that pot get!!! It'll be so interesting to find out come December 1st. I really must weigh mine out of interest.

I'm hoping everyone's had a wonderful day, DH & I had a beautiful walk earlier, sunny but not too hot.

  • Thanks for the very sweet welcome Sue, laughed out loud at the 'saving for everything' beside my number! I am a really horrible saver, always seem to break into it early and have opened and closed more savings accounts than I can count, but I really feel a lot more positive this time. Think just need to come up with a small (and realistic!) number to save towards and it will maybe become easier to stick to than my current vague 'save for a while and then decide later' plan :D.

Also really like the seperate pots idea, thanks! :A

  • Not had anything to pot the last few days but did a car boot sale today so I have a fair bit to add now.

£5.49 going into pot 1 and £5.50 going into pot 2.

Had to split the profit from the car boot sale with my brother so I made £16.15. Got my self some lovely sunburn too!
