  • was looking for something in the drawer for DD2 and found 21p so in the pot it went. I started reading the site forums a few nights ago and cant believe how easy it it.

We went to mum and dad's caravan for our hols and you have to pay 20p for a shower at the site. As there are 5 of us I have been putting £1 a day in a different pot each day to cover the cost of each of us. I counted £20 last night. I worked out that by Christmas I shall have saved over £113 by the 1st of DEC!

Have learnt some fantastic tips with food shopping and recipes so fingers crossed will sort myself out a lot quicker than I thought.

Incidentally mumof3plusoh, it's good to see you prioritised us with your first post, a very wise move! :) Just seen your post above, marvellous news, well done you!!!

Don't worry Footie, you'll soon sort yourself once the netball gets in full swing. It's not easy to keep control when you're tired either....apart from going on to bed!!! Don't forget the water. ;)

Good to see your Dad's on MSE jakes-mum. :D Do be careful in shops, though I can see the dilemma we don't want to see you on "Britain's Most Wanted"!!!!

That massive 14p still adds up to your total, Elmo, better than nowt too.

That's it squeeeek, always keep a look out for OH's pockets, even if he's got the trousers on! ;)

Good to see your welcome to mumof3plusoh, DorsetGirl, it's lovely when folk welcome new members aboard.

Good to see you skilly. and well done on the £10er!

Awww Elmo, that's rotten of him...cuff his ear when he gets home!

Good luck with a very secure hiding place. ;)

I can imagine why you'd have given that 10p a kick first, skilly, pleased for you that it wasn't stuck though! Amazing how some folk miss these things, but if they've other things on their minds I s'pose it's easy done.

Another £2.02 added to mins as I didn't need to spend it after all. :D

  • Can't believe how addictive this is. Kids are on board. DD1 thought we should check around the house for money. Been through drawers and cupboards for a few mins and with the 21p I found this morning, we have managed to amass £5.10

Am so pleased and it is so easy! Here's to being debt free.

Brilliant news, mumof3plusoh!!!! :T It's amazing how this helps us all budget so much easier as with almost everything we go to buy, we first ask that question of ourselves......."Do we need it or just want it?" If it's the latter - leave it on the shelf. :D

All the best with your debts, things are already looking good.

Hi, I know I'm starting late but I was wondering if I could join?

Usually I buy everything on debit card so I don't have change but I've switched to cash recently in an attempt to stop impulse buying. For some reason handing over actual money feels worse than just handing over a bit of plastic, so I should have some change soon to start saving. :)

I don't actually have that many I need to buy Christmas gifts for (mainly just cards for adults in family) so I think a target of about £100 would be my aim.
